For the Players Foundation - Meet Our Founder, Christin Golich, Ed.D., M.S., Post-Master’s ABA, B.S. Founder & Executive Director,

Christin grew up playing soccer across Hampton Roads, from her early years in local club soccer, to her days at Great Bridge High School, and on to competing at Chowan University. With more than 15 years of year-round coaching experience in schools, clubs, and community programs, she has dedicated her life to helping young players grow on and off the field.

In addition to coaching, Christin has built a career in education. She has served as an elementary school teacher, PALS reading teacher, school counselor, and behavioral specialist across Currituck County, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach schools. Her formal education includes a Doctorate in Educational Organizational Leadership, a Master’s in School Counseling, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis, and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. These experiences and credentials underscore her lifelong commitment to students, families, and communities, and highlight the expertise she brings to blending education, mentorship, and sport.

Her husband, Scott Golich, is a former Naval Officer and now an airline pilot. Together they are raising their 14-year-old son, Mason, an eighth grader in Virginia Beach schools, and a dedicated soccer player. They have seen firsthand how access to proper equipment transforms a child’s experience with sports.

Their shared vision is to ensure every kid, not just in Virginia Beach, but across Hampton Roads, from Norfolk and Chesapeake to Williamsburg and James City County, has a safe place to play and the equipment they need to enjoy the game. They are especially committed to reaching Title I schools, where resources are often most limited, so that all families and communities can benefit from the opportunities soccer provides.

Christin’s journey, from makeshift fields to lined stadiums, inspired her to create For the Players Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every player and coach has the fields, equipment, and opportunities they deserve.
