Student Climate & Culture Survey 2026-2027

In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we ask students in grades 3-12 to participate in an online survey. The survey content asks students to self-reflect on emotional regulation, social awareness, growth mindset, perseverance, sense of belonging, school safety, and teacher-student relationships.

Your student will be invited to participate in the full online survey during regular school hours at the end of October. When the survey is introduced, students will be invited to participate and informed that they do not have to answer any questions they do not wish to answer. The full survey should take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete.

In addition to this full survey, students will also have opportunities throughout the year to take shorter, more frequent surveys called Check-ins. These Check-ins will take just a few minutes to complete and will use questions drawn from and aligned to the full survey. This will provide timely feedback on how students are feeling and engaging in their learning. The information gathered from Check-ins will help school staff provide more immediate and responsive support for students.

You can review survey questions here: Grades 3-5 SEL Competencies Survey, Grades 6-12 SEL Competencies Survey, Grades 3-5 Supports & Environments Survey, Grades 6-12 Supports & Environments Survey

Student responses to both the full survey and Check-ins will follow our district’s expectations for maintaining confidentiality for your student. Our this-party vendor, Panorama, has signed the district's data privacy agreement to ensure all required online encryption protocols are followed.

Parents/guardians have already provided your consent or opt-out through online registration or annual family update; if you have any questions, please contact:

Health Office News

Hello October! Pumpkin Spice & Healthy Vibes

October is finally here, bringing crisp air, sweater weather, and all things pumpkin! While we’re getting ready for Halloween treats and cozy nights, the Health Office wants to help you keep your wellness in check this season. Here is what we're focusing on this month:

  • Immune Boosting: As the weather cools down, it’s prime time to protect yourself. Wash your hands frequently and consider scheduling your seasonal flu shot! TV flu clinic will be October 5th from 3-5p

  • Mental Well-Being: October 10th is World Mental Health Day. Take a few minutes this month to step away from your desk, practice deep breathing, and prioritize your work-life balance. Schedule a date night!
  • Seasonal Nutrition: It’s peak harvest season. Swap out sugary pumpkin snacks for real autumn powerhouses like fresh apples, roasted squash, and pumpkin seeds, trying roasting them....yum!!!!
  • Keep Moving: Don't let the cooler temps keep you inside! A brisk 15-minute walk in the crisp autumn air is a great way to clear your mind and stretch your legs. Sign up for Walktober and get a group going to represent TVHS!!!!! Every step counts, starting October 1st.
  • Did you know....there are over 7,500 varieties of apples and it'd take more than 20 years to try them all!!!!

As always, if you have questions about your student’s health needs at school, please reach out to the Health Office. Cristina Frick (Health Aide) 970-613-7918 and Sheila Calder (Nurse) 970-613-6957

Stay tuned for more announcements, reminders, and the latest scoop from the Health Office!

Please remember November 19th is our immunization exclusion date.

Get Connected at TVHS! 🦅

Hello TVHS Families!

My name is Misti Juergensen, and I am the Activities Coordinator at Thompson Valley High School. One of my favorite parts of my role is helping students find ways to get connected and involved in our school community!

TVHS offers a wide variety of clubs, activities, organizations, leadership opportunities, and Fine Arts programs. Whether students want to explore a new interest, meet new people, develop leadership skills, share their talents, or simply find a place where they belong, there is something for every Eagle.

Opportunities include everything from DECA, Robotics, Knowledge Bowl, and Book Club to Student Council, National Honor Societies, Band, Orchestra, Choir, Theater, Visual Arts, and much more!

Below, you’ll find a full list of our activities, clubs, and organizations, along with the staff sponsors to contact for more information. I encourage students to reach out to a sponsor, ask questions, and give something new a try!

If you’re not sure where to start or have questions about getting involved, please feel free to contact me at misti.juergensen@tsd.org. I’m happy to help connect your student with an opportunity that interests them.

  2. On the left side, find Other calendars.
