I hope you enjoyed the warm temperatures today; it felt tropical after yesterday's freezing cold! For anyone counting down (like me!) there are only 43 days until spring… and fortunately we have many great activities to keep us feeling warm and happy until then.🤗 Please find important information below:

• We are excited to announce that thanks to Mrs. Loud and Mrs. O'Brien, Wessagusset received a grant from the Flutie Foundation! Representatives from this amazing organization came to school on Friday to present a generous check that will fund innovative flexible seating options. Mrs. Loud and Mrs. Cosgrove's class accepted the grant on behalf of the school - we are so grateful and very excited! Thank you to Mrs. Loud and Mrs. O'Brien for coordinating this!

• Check out the Math Coaches, “Math at Home” newsletter - Math At Home. They have included many awesome activities to help students build their math skills.

• CORI forms are required for any family member volunteering at school. Even if you aren’t signed up for anything right now, it is a good idea to submit a CORI so that you have it on file if a volunteer opportunity comes up. CORI forms can be found here: WPS CORI. CORI forms must be brought to the Office in person, along with your Driver’s License.

• February 6-10 is School Counselors Week! We are so grateful to our extraordinary School Counselor, Mrs. Machado. She is an important member of the Wessagusset team, and someone we all look to for support, advice, and encouragement. Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Machado!

• Tuesday, February 14th is a half-day with dismissal at 11:50 am

• Congratulations to Mrs. Labriola’s students for their outstanding ST Math usage! They won a classroom set of Jiji the Penguin stickers for their performance, which was among the best in the state!

• Did you know the Wessagusset staff celebrates Wildcat Wednesday? We show our Wessagusset pride by wearing Wess gear or maroon and gold. We invite students to do the same to show their school spirit!

• Chartwells Food Services is starting a new program called, “Mood Boost” to teach students the connection between what they eat and how they feel. Interesting information can be found here: Mood Boost.

• Wessagusset students are invited to spread kindness week in honor of “Random Acts of Kindness Week”, February 13-17. Students can dress in the colors assigned for each day to “Color the World with Kindness”. No need to make any new purchases, use what you have at home to add some color to our days! Kindness Week
