END OF SCHOOL YEAR PRAYER
God of wisdom, we thank you for all the gifts you have given us throughout this school year.
We praise you for giving us life, for saving us in Christ, and for choosing us to be your people.
As we come to the end of this school year, we voice our gratitude for the good things you have done in us, and we praise you for all who have shared in the work of this school.
We ask that you bless them in your love and give them refreshment and peace.
We praise you, God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen
NEWS FROM MRS McCLUE
Dear Families
As we come to the end of the 2025 school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every family for your support, partnership, and care throughout the year. OLGC is a place of warmth, joy, and community because of the people who walk through its gates each day, and it has been a privilege to share this year with you.
2025 has been a wonderful year of celebrations and successes. From the learning achieved in every classroom, to the many moments of faith, service, and community connection, our students have continued to shine. Whether it was whole-school events, excursions, sporting carnivals, performances, or the countless everyday victories in learning and wellbeing, our children have made us proud time and time again.
I am deeply grateful to our dedicated staff, who work tirelessly to provide a safe, inspiring, and nurturing learning environment. Their professionalism and commitment to your children ensures that OLGC remains a place where every student is known, valued, and celebrated.
To our departing families, thank you for the time you have spent as part of our community. We wish you every blessing as you move into the next chapter of your journey. You will always be part of the OLGC story.
As we prepare to welcome a well-deserved break, I wish all families a joyful and holy Christmas. May the peace and hope of this season fill your homes, and may the school holidays be a time of rest, laughter, and connection.
Thank you once again for a remarkable year. I look forward to welcoming our students back in 2026 for another year of learning, growth, and community.
Wishing you a safe and happy Christmas season.

NEWS FROM MRS BARFOOT
Advent
Advent is a special time in the Church as we prepare our hearts and homes for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. It is a season of waiting, hope and joyful expectation, marked by prayer, reflection and acts of kindness. Throughout these weeks, we remember the journey of Mary and Joseph, the message of the prophets and the promise of a Saviour. At school, we have been gathering in prayer, lighting the Advent candles, and taking time each day to focus on love, peace, joy and hope. We invite families to celebrate this sacred season by sharing simple moments of prayer, generosity and gratitude at home as we eagerly await the birth of Christ.
The Advent candles are part of the Advent wreath, a circular wreath of greenery that represents God’s never-ending love and the hope of eternal life. Each candle has a special meaning and is lit on the four Sundays of Advent as we prepare for the coming of Jesus.
First candle – Hope (Purple): Reminds us of God’s promise to send a Saviour. It symbolises hope and expectation as we begin our Advent journey.
Second candle – Peace (Purple): Calls us to prepare a peaceful place in our hearts for Jesus and to be peacemakers in our world.
Third candle – Joy (Pink/Gaudete Sunday): A reminder of the joy we feel because Christmas is near. It represents rejoicing and celebration.
Fourth candle – Love (Purple): Represents God’s love for us, made visible through the gift of His Son.
At Christmas, a white candle is often placed in the centre of the wreath, symbolising Christ, the Light of the World, who comes to bring hope, peace, joy and love to all.
SVDP Giving Tree and Christmas Appeal
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful families for their extraordinary generosity throughout this season of giving. Your thoughtful gifts for the children of women in Bandyup Prison brought hope, joy and a sense of love to families who needed it most.
In addition, the generous donations of food for St Vincent de Paul were truly overwhelming. The SVDP team expressed how touched and grateful they were by the kindness shown by our school community.
These acts of compassion are a beautiful reflection of the Gospel in action and a powerful reminder of the difference we can make when we come together in faith and generosity.
Thank you for living out the true spirit of Christmas.
END OF YEAR REPORTS – SEQTA ENGAGE
Our Lady of Good Counsel utilises the SEQTA Engage Parent Portal for parents to access reports for students in Kindy to Year 6 at the end of each semester. If you have not already done so, please log in to SEQTA Engage to ensure you are able to access your child's report. To do this you will need to access: https://olgc.coneqt-p.cathednet.wa.edu.au/ and use your current username and password.
If you know your username but have forgotten your password, please click on the "Forgot your Password?" link and an immediate email will be sent to you. The password reset link in the email will expire within one hour, so please action immediately. If you have forgotten both of these, then please contact the school office and we can remind you of your username.
If you are new to using SEQTA Engage you should have received an email to set up a login account. This email will expire within 7 days so please action this as soon as possible. If you have not received your sign-up email or have any issues, please contact the school.
Families of Year 6 students and any students who are leaving the school are reminded that access to their child’s SEQTA reports will cease after 31 December 2025. Please ensure all reports are downloaded prior to this date.
