Dear Sunset Park Families,

As we complete the first quarter, I hope you enjoyed a safe, relaxing intersession break! We are proud of the great work our students have accomplished and look forward to continuing that momentum.

As we begin Quarter 2, our expectations for student learning and behavior remain high. We will continue encouraging every student to Rise Up, make good choices, and do their best each day. Thank you for supporting these expectations at home and for being a valued partner in your child’s success.

Please consider joining us for our next Powerful Parents Meeting on Monday, October 19, at 6:00 p.m. We would love to see you there!

LOST & Found LOST & Found

We have a lot of items in our Lost & Found. Please encourage your student to check if they have misplaced and item. Items will be out this week during lunch for students to look through to see if anything belongs to them. Once we put things out, any items left will be donated.

This month in music:

- 5th grade is preparing for the Rock Hill Symphony Orchestra: Celebrating America's Birthday concert on October 26th at Winthrop University. We are discussing audience etiquette and learning "America the Beautiful."

- All grades have been learning songs in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month learning social dances, playing xylophones and boom whackers. Selected students will perform for our Hispanic Heritage program on October 16th.

Teachers have been exploring all of the high quality acceleration resources we have with a gallery walk. K-2 grades and 3-5 grades shared resources and best practices that would support differentiated instruction across multiple levels of proficiency during a staff meeting. Each teacher will be using these resources to ensure that our mission is carried out whereby all students work up to their potential.
