Dear Rucker Families,

What a wonderful short week of learning we have had at Rucker! I hope each of you enjoyed a restful fall break and made special memories with your loved ones. It has been great to welcome everyone back and continue the incredible learning happening across our campus!

A few important reminders and exciting updates for our families:

Pink Out Day – Tuesday, October 20
Prosper ISD will celebrate Pink Out Day in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We encourage everyone to wear PINK from head to toe as we come together to support this important cause!

Red Ribbon Week – Beginning Monday, October 26
Red Ribbon Week begins next Monday! Be sure to check out the dress-up days listed below and join us in making this week fun and meaningful for our students.

Strengthening the Home-School Connection
We are excited to introduce a new way to partner with our families in supporting student learning! Twice a month, you will find informational videos from your child's teacher embedded within your grade-level newsletter. These videos will provide additional insight into the learning taking place in the classroom and offer another way for us to connect what happens at school with the support and encouragement students receive at home. Our goal is to continue strengthening the partnership between home and school so that, together, we can support the growth and success of every Rucker student.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for being such an important part of our Rucker community. I hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend!

Respectfully,

Bobbie Allen

Principal

⏰ Arrival & Attendance Reminders

  • Our building opens as early as 7:25 AM, giving students plenty of time to enter the building, get settled, and be ready for the start of their day.
  • Students who arrive after the 7:50 AM late bell will be marked tardy. If your student arrives after 7:50 AM, you will need to park your vehicle and come into the front office to sign your student in with our receptionist.

πŸ“Attendance Note Submission Process

  • Doctor’s notes or other supporting documentation for an absence, must be submitted by completing the online Attendance Note Submission form and uploading your documentation within the form.

  • Please do not email your absence notes to teachers or our registrar as the process has now changed.

🌑️ Health Reminder

πŸ“šDropping off Items at School

  • Protecting every instructional minute is extremely important to us. To minimize interruptions to learning, we will not make phone calls to classrooms for forgotten items. Please help your child arrive at school prepared each day with all necessary instructional materials and, if you are sending lunch from home, their lunch. If your child does forget an item, parents are welcome to drop it off in the front lobby. Please be sure that all items are clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name and their teacher’s name. Thank you for helping us protect instructional time and keep our classrooms focused on learning!

πŸ‘ŸDress Code

  • All students are required to follow the Prosper ISD dress code. Students are encouraged to wear closed toe shoes with rubber soles every day for safety reasons. PE requires closed toe shoes for safety as well. Flip Flops are discouraged as they can be a hazard on the playground and in the gym. Please click here to view the PISD dress code.

πŸ‘©πŸ»β€βš•οΈMedication

  • If your child will need medication administered during school hours, please be advised you will need to drop off medication and fill out the medication form prior to our nurse being able to administer it. Please contact our nurse at 945-678-2200 to schedule a time to drop off the medication and all required documentation.

BEST PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TEXAS

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 68-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest-growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics, and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.

We are incredibly proud to share that Prosper ISD has officially been recognized as a Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) District by Solution Tree's Evidence of Effectiveness Committee. This is one of the most prestigious recognitions in education β€” and it belongs to every single person who shows up for our students every day.

This distinction is not given lightly. It is earned β€” through years of intentional collaboration, a relentless focus on learning, and a shared commitment to ensuring that every student in Prosper ISD has the opportunity to succeed at the highest levels.

🫢🏼THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING OUR TEACHERS & STUDENTS

In November 2023, an overwhelming majority of voters approved $2.7 billion dollars to continue building excellence in Prosper ISD. Thank you for your continued financial commitment to our district.

And while our facilities are second to none, we know that it is the people who make the difference in Prosper ISD. From our bus drivers to our teachers to our teacher assistants, our staff is here to support students as they pursue their dreams of excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics.
