What's Blooming @ Columbine
March 2026 - Columbine Elementary
Hello Columbine Families!
It's exciting to celebrate the month of March. As we look forward to Spring Break, teachers are busy making sure students are learning and growing in preparation for assessments in April (April 6th-22nd is our assessment window). Detailed information about the CMAS schedule for our 3rd-6th grade students will come home after Spring Break. At home, you can help your student by reading: reading together, reading to your child, or having your child read to you! We are excited for our students to demonstrate all that they have learned this year!
Tomorrow, March 2nd, is Dr. Seuss's birthday - what a great time to continue to encourage your child to work on reading and math BINGO, our school wide literacy and math challenge! Their participation is a great way to reinforce their learning from home! Students can complete as many BINGO sheets as they are able to by April 29th : )
On March 20th, we will celebrate Columbine Community Day - check out the info below, and look in backpacks and classroom newsletters for more information about this special day to celebrate our students' special guests!
Columbine is grateful to partner with you to make this school year one of learning, connecting, and growing! As a reminder, registration for the 26-27 school year is now open. Early registration helps us plan for appropriate staffing and aids in planning for a successful school year. If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to register by clicking the link below.
Happy Spring!

Important Health Office Information
The health staff is hoping you are navigating this winter season without any issues! However, we know that many children and families are dealing with upper respiratory issues, including various strands of upper respiratory infections and severe colds! While we want students to be at school, it is our top priority to keep everyone healthy and well!
We ask that if your student has any of the following symptoms they remain at home: fever, diarrhea and/or vomiting and a new or severe cough. We ask that you please wait 24 hours for those symptoms to subside (without the use of medication) before returning your student to school (and improvement in the case of a cough). If you have any questions about any other symptoms or health concerns, please feel free to call your school nurse directly. When you call the office to report an absence (or report the absence in IC), it is helpful if we can know what type of illness or symptoms your student is experiencing. We appreciate your willingness to share that information so we can track trends and help protect our vulnerable students. If a student becomes ill at school, we will call parents for an immediate pick up. Thank you for your assistance and partnership keeping our students, staff, parents and visitors healthy.

Champions Summer Camp
Imagine if this summer break was really a break? I’m so proud to share that we’ve planned a program that’ll keep your kiddo engaged, inspired, and having FUN all summer long.
Over 1,000 families shared what they’re looking for in a summer program. With their needs and wants in mind, we bring you: Champions Champ Camp!
- CONVENIENT AND FLEXIBLE. Join Champ Camp for one week or all summer long! Just pick the days or weeks that work for you and we’ll handle the rest.
- DIFFERENT DAILY. No two days are the same. We’ll include STEM experiments, interactive sports, water play, group activities, friendship, and more!
- A SAFE PLACE. When you drop your camper off, you know they’re with people
(and in environments) you already know and trust. - CONFIDENCE. By fall, your child will be more confident with new skills and new friends!
- On-Site FIELD TRIPS. We’ll be bringing the fun to us with petting zoos, foam pits, and visits from the police department, story tellers, and so much more~
Champ Camp for summer break runs 5/27/26 - 8/21/26, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day, Monday through Friday, at Columbine Elementary.

Parking Lot Info & Reminders
- Please be mindful of your speed!
- Use the crosswalk!
- If you walk your student up to the doors in the morning, park in the parking lot.
- The upper carpool loop is not for parking - drivers must stay in their vehicles while students get in or out of the car.
- The lower carpool loop is reserved for pre-K and kindergarten families who have their own parking protocols related to the safety of our youngest students.
- The upper parking lot will only be open during dismissal or during special events that occur during the school day.
- As always, if your student is arriving late, you must walk up to the office to check them in.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep students safe and accounted for and safe on our campus!
Leave Toys and Trinkets at Home
Please note that toys and trinkets or other distracting accessories and/or personal items are not permitted at school. We appreciate your support to keep such items at home, so they do not become a distraction the in instructional environment. Students will be asked to store distracting items if they become an issue during the school day. If needed, items will be kept in the main office for parent pick up at the end of the day.
Bring Gym Shoes
Please remember to send a pair of shoes for your student to wear for gym class! Proper shoes help students to stay safe and be able to participate appropriately in class. Questions? Connect with our PE teacher, Ms. Goldberg.
Immunization Requirements
As a reminder we are required by the State of Colorado to have an up-to-date immunization record, in-process plan or an exemption for each of our students. Immunization requirement notifications were sent out this week to our students who are still missing required documents. If you have any questions about your student's immunization status, please reach out to our health staff:
