ID Requirement for All Visitors
For the safety of our students and staff, all adults entering the building must present a valid form of identification. Please ring the doorbell and hold your ID (such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport) up to the camera for verification. Once your ID is confirmed, the door will be unlocked for you. Upon entry, proceed directly to the front office to sign in. We appreciate your support and cooperation in helping us keep our campus safe and secure.
Principal's Corner
Dear Cielo Vista Families,
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break! When we return, we’ll be kicking off our first week of December and entering the final stretch of the fall semester. We appreciate your support in helping us make this last month a strong and successful one.
December will be filled with exciting events—Culture Night, our final Fitness Friday of the semester, and the 5th Grade Orchestra and Music performance. Please ensure your children are at school each day and continue encouraging them to follow our Bobcat expectations by demonstrating ROAR throughout the school day.
We will also be completing our nine-weeks assessments and MAP Growth assessments to close out the fall semester. Be on the lookout for dates and details from your child’s teacher so you can celebrate all the amazing progress your child has made.
Warm regards,
Maria Guerra

Attendance Procedures
Dear Bobcat Families,
Please make sure your child attends school every day—their attendance truly matters and plays a key role in their success. If your child is absent, you may report the absence by using the QR code provided or by sending an email to cielovista_notes@episd.org. Please note we are no longer accepting phone calls to excuse absences. A written form of communication either by email or using the QR code is now required.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership!

Assistant Principal Corner
Hello Cielo Vista Community,
As we enter December, we’d like to remind everyone about the value of positive behavior. Please take some time to speak with your child about being kind, following our Bobcat R.O.A.R. expectations, and making responsible choices in and out of the classroom.
We’re excited to recognize students who have shown outstanding behavior with a Winter Wonderland celebration on December 16. Students will be eligible to attend if they have demonstrated positive behavior over the past nine weeks. Let’s keep supporting them as they work toward a strong finish!
Please feel free to reach out to me anytime at cfierro1@episd.org or 915-236-8375.
Counselor Corner
Nurse Herrera Corner
Nurse Lisa has been hard at work throughout November and will continue her efforts in December as she conducts our annual vision and hearing screenings. If any updates or concerns arise regarding your child, she will contact you directly.
With cold and flu season in full swing, we kindly ask families to review the guidelines for when students should remain at home. Thank you for helping us keep our little Bobcats healthy and safe!
1.They have a fever (for example, ≥ 100.4 °F / 38 °C) and/or are taking fever-reducing medication. Many schools require them to be fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication before returning.2.They are vomiting or have diarrhea, especially if it is frequent. Many guidelines say: stay home until at least 24 hours after the last episode and be able to keep fluids/food.
3.They have a persistent or severe cough, trouble breathing, or other respiratory distress.
4.They are too ill to participate in normal activities (e.g., very tired, pale, unusually irritable, not eating) or need more care than the school can provide.
5.They have a contagious illness (e.g., diagnosed with strep throat, conjunctivitis/pink eye, chickenpox, etc.) where school or daycare policy says they must remain out until cleared.
6.They have a rash of unknown causes plus other symptoms that could indicate a more serious illness.
