CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN
It was great to see so many of our families at our Halloween parties and parade! Our students were creative with their costumes and they enjoyed celebrating with their classmates. We thank our parent volunteers for hosting classroom parties and families for their donations. We hope your family had a great Halloween!
PLC FOCUS: ANALYTICAL & PROCESS WRITING
The Professional Learning Day on Friday for teachers will focus on two primary types of writing - analytical writing and process writing. Analytical writing requires students to draw conclusions based on information and use evidence to support their thinking. When students reason in math, respond to a specific prompt after reading a text or make a scientific claim they are writing analytically. Process writing refers to the steps a writer takes to craft a narrative, informational or opinion piece. While these steps vary by genre, they all include planning, drafting, editing, revising and publishing.
Teachers across all grade levels will build a common understanding of what grade level writing looks like for both types of writing. Teams will also find opportunities within the curriculum to embed analytical writing. They will also continue to plan upcoming Benchmark Writing, which is our new writing program focused on process writing.
We are looking forward to a great day of learning!
VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY - NOVEMBER 10
Gold Rush is incredibly proud of those who serve our country. GRE is excited to celebrate Veterans and those currently serving in the military during a school assembly on November 11. Due to our limited capacity, we are limiting invitations to Veterans or those currently serving in the military. All interested parties must RSVP by November 6. Click here to RSVP. Participants are invited to a celebratory breakfast prior to our school recognition.
OPEN ENROLLMENT & K REGISTRATION FOR 2024-2025
First round of Open Enrollment is open until December 1. Gold Rush is accepting a limited number of students at certain grade levels. Gold Rush will host information sessions and tours for prospective parents on Thursday, November 16, at 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for Gold Rush to celebrate the incredible work that occurs throughout our building each day. Please remember if you have a fifth grader who is currently open enrolled, and you live outside of the Legend feeder boundaries, you have to open enroll for sixth grade at Cimarron Middle School.
If you are a current GRE family, please assist us in planning for the 2024-2025 school year by indicating your child(ren)'s intent to return to GRE using this form. Please complete the Intent to Return survey by Wednesday, November 30th. This will help ensure your child's classroom placement for the upcoming school year.
