A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
It was wonderful to see our hallways buzzing with energy and smiles again this week. I hope your winter break was restful and filled with quality time. We jumped right back into the swing of things with a fantastic Spirit Week, and seeing the students' creativity and school pride was the perfect way to recharge our community. There is a special kind of magic in seeing everyone reconnect after time apart. It reminds us all why our school family is so special. 💚
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody
Principal
To kick off our first week back from winter break, our first-grade students and MAP 1/2 class enjoyed a special Cozy Reading Day. They were joined by a fantastic group of guest readers from across the school community who stopped by to share their favorite stories. Our students loved hearing different voices bring these books to life, and it was a wonderful way to ease back into the school year. A big thank you to our guest readers for helping us celebrate our love of books!

From the Nurse Dana ...
It is that time of year when we are seeing an increase in illness in all of Lake County. To help prevent the spread of illness, we would like to give you some guidelines to help with your decision on whether or not to send your child to school.
In accordance with our Parent/Student Handbook and the Lake County Health Department, we ask that you keep your child home if he or she:
Has a fever of 100.0 degrees or higher within 24 hours
Has vomited in the last 24 hours
Has a sore throat with fever (see below)
Has a persistent cough (dry or productive)
Has diarrhea (three or more episodes in 24 hours)
Has red, itchy/burning eyes with discharge or tearing
Has a rash or open and draining sore
Has symptoms that prevent him or her from participating in school, such as:
Excessive tiredness or lack of appetite
Headaches, body aches, ear aches
Severe sore throat (could be strep throat even without fever. Children often experience headache & stomach ache prior to sore throat). Contact your pediatrician to assess or diagnose strep throat.
If you child has recently been ill, please be aware of the following guidelines before having your child return to school, athletic or social activities:
Be free of fever, vomiting and/or diarrhea for at least 24 hours (without fever reducing medication).
If strep throat or conjunctivitis, they must be on an appropriate antibiotic for at least 24 hours.
Rash illnesses must be assessed by a doctor.
Winter MAP Assessment Reports
We are pleased to share that Winter MAP assessment reports are ready for distribution. Beginning Monday, January 12, we will start emailing score reports to all district families. Please be aware that due to the high volume of reports, this is a staggered release that will take approximately 3–4 days to complete. You should receive your student’s results no later than Friday, January 16. We encourage you to keep an eye on your inbox next week to review your child's academic progress.
