SPECIAL EDITION Community Update
JANUARY 23, 2026
STUDENT SAFETY
Vista Unified has a dual obligation to drive excellence and innovation in education and to keep students and staff safe. We have developed a very close working partnership with the San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan to sponsor a three part series for parents and guardians, carefully designed to provide information and strategies to keep students safe from harm and exploitation.
While our schools are laser focused on student safety, parents and guardians are critical partners in creating a safe and supportive environment for students while they are not on campus. Many of the challenges that students face with regard to safety and exploitation can be traced back to unstructured time outside of school.
Please join us at these important Community Forums as we work with local and regional partners in law enforcement and social services to protect our students from harm.
