Outdoor Recess

With the weather changing, I want to take this opportunity to share outdoor recess procedures. As was started last year, building leaders will use 13°F, with windchill factored in, as the cutoff temperature for outdoor recess. If it is below thirteen degrees with the windchill, students will participate in recess indoors.

Please note that other factors unique to individual buildings (such as ice on the path to the playground)

may also impact the decision for outdoor recess. We look forward to a safe and healthy winter!

Arrivals Reminder

Now that we are into the coldest months of the school year, our school drop off has increased in popularity. If you drive to school and drop off your student(s):

  • Morning Car Arrival: 8:05-8:15am
  • Pull as far forward as possible to allow multiple cars in the circular drive (all the way to Mrs. Suppes).
  • Parents, please do not exit your vehicle as this slows down the arrival process. If you want to assist your child in exiting the vehicle, please pull into one of the marked parking spaces.
  • Please make sure students are ready to exit the vehicle quickly upon arrival.
  • Make sure your child exits the vehicle on the school side as opposed to the driveway side of the car. It is much safer to exit onto the sidewalk!
  • Once your child exits the vehicle, you are free to go. Please do so quickly as we will keep the line moving. **We have many car drop-offs, and will do our best to get through cars quickly!**

Reminder! Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey

As part of our commitment to providing continuous service excellence to our families and our community, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education. Your feedback will help us determine what is working well in your child’s school and any areas that may need improvement.

The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will be saved once you click submit. The survey will ask you to select your child’s school, and you can complete a separate survey for each of the schools your children attend.

The Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey can be accessed here:

  • Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 – Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey

  • QR Code link: See inserted photo

The survey is scheduled for Monday, November 18 through Thursday, December 12

To maintain confidentiality of the Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey, our partners at Studer Education will be administering the survey, managing the data collection, and aggregating the data to provide results reports to leaders.

Thank you for your commitment to our success!

Sip 'n Chat

This year, in conjunction with the District 95 Board of Education and administration, the Superintendent has started a new initiative called “Sip ‘n Chat” where up to two Board members, one or more administrators, and Dr. Gallt will be available at various locations in the community for people to drop in for conversations relating to our school district. Key administrators will also be on hand as subject matter experts in particular areas, but discussions are not restricted to only that topic. The hope is to have room for up to 20-25 people at one time, though it is also fine to come and go – please consider stopping by for a cup of coffee and a chat! The next Sip ‘n Chat date is:

December 9, 2024

First Watch, 20505 N Rand Rd, Kildeer

November Student of the Month

Each month, District 95 asks every building to select a student who represents our District Values of collaboration, continuous improvement, equity, high expectations, integrity, perseverance, and respect. For the month of November, Spencer Loomis chose Fourth Grader, Nicolas R.

Nico comes to school every day with a positive attitude and a kind, friendly demeanor that brightens the classroom. He consistently goes out of his way to make sure everyone feels included, and he ensures that every voice is heard. Whether it's checking in with classmates or asking teachers how their day is going, Nico shows genuine care for the well-being of those around him. His thoughtfulness and empathy are truly remarkable.

In addition to his kindness, Nico is a hard-working and well-rounded student. He approaches his work with integrity and always puts in his best effort, setting a great example for his peers. It’s clear that he strives to build a positive environment wherever he goes, and it’s an absolute pleasure to have him in class!

*PTO STRESS-FREE FUNDRAISER: New Format, Same Big Impact*

As we have in years past, we acknowledge that time is often the thing most families never seem to have enough of. That is why our primary source of fundraising comes from our No Stress Fundraiser, which allows families to directly contribute and support our PTO without the additional time demands.

New this year, we have extended our donation window to the end of February. This flexible timeline means you can contribute when it's right for your family - no pressure, no deadlines.

Your donations allow the PTO to support students and staff directly through our events, educational programs/support and classroom resources provided throughout the year.

We can’t thank you enough for supporting our school and making a difference in our community.

*Note that donations are tax deductible.
