StM Faith Formation Newsletter
FF WEEK 12 - January 26, 2025

Hi Families,
I hope you have all enjoyed the little bit of January snow this week! We do have Faith Formation classes this Sunday - January 26 and look forward to seeing everyone then.
If you have a child making their First Reconciliation on February 1st, please plan to attend the family meeting (parent with child) on January 26 from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm in the PARISH CENTER (see flyer below) instead of going to the classroom. This includes the following classroom teachers: Stella Dreyer, Sharonne Lobo, Ryan Chow, Frank Norton, and the middle school students with Tony Crabtree who recently moved into his class. Please let us know if you have any questions.
SAFETY ALERT: The past few weekends, we have seen a number of near-miss accidents in the parking lot with children and families heading into the school building for classes. We have a few security people helping to cross families at the crosswalks. Please be alert when traveling through the parking lot to watch for children darting out between cars, and please walk with your children through the parking lot. This will help to eliminate any potential accidents. We appreciate your help with this.
We are always looking for parents and/or grandparents to help with our Challenge and Conquest program. If you can help please visit our SIGNUP to let us know.
Many blessings,
The Faith Formation Team

OCIA-Youth Class - Sacramental Year 2025
SACRAMENTAL WORKSHOP - FEB 22, 2025 @ 10 AM
Youth in OCIA preparing for baptism at the Easter Vigil this spring and candidates preparing to be received into the Catholic Church on May 4th should plan to be at this workshop. We will review the Sacraments of Initiation and prepare families for their reception into the Catholic Church. If you have any questions about this workshop, please contact Joyce Blum: jblum@stmcary.org.
Parents, please complete the OCIA Sacrament Data Form (below) and bring it to the workshop. Additionally, your chosen sponsor should be in the process of completing the sponsor form (see below).
Our programs rely on your support! We continue to need volunteers to be extra hands. If groups want to participate in an outside activity, move to the gym, or play on the fields, we need a second adult present. Some groups have two adults volunteering consistently, but many do not. By volunteering with a group, you give them the ability to participate in all activities. The button below takes you to our Volunteer Sign-Up. We particularly need assistance this Sunday.
Confirmation meetings on Sunday, January 26th will be in the Conference Center Gallery.
This Sunday, January 26th teens will be chatting about the origins of the Sacrament of the Eucharist and where the Catholic teaching about the Eucharist is found in the Bible.
If you would like to watch the video about the "Story of the Eucharist" that teens will be watching this Sunday, you can find the video on Formed.org at the following link: https://watch.formed.org/videos/the-story-of-the-eucharist

PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
