4-H in the Classroom
Our November meetings were about Light and Shadows and December covered the basics of presentations and public speaking in preparation for Project Achievement!
January and February will be all about Project Achievement!
Step Up and Lead
Jackson County Elementary and Middle Leadership Councils recently participated in Step Up & Lead, an interactive leadership conference designed to inspire confidence, communication, and teamwork among young leaders.
This program is made possible through a strong partnership between Georgia 4-H, the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals, and the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals — all working together to cultivate leadership skills that will last a lifetime. From hands-on leadership challenges to team-building activities, students learned that true leadership starts with service, respect, and collaboration.
133 4th and 5th grade, and 63 middle school students completed Step Up and Lead in at our November events!
LEGO Robotics - Clover Creators
FIRST LEGO League team #62743 Clover Creators started December off with our Regional match at Empower College & Career Center on December 6th and came away with the Innovation Project Award for their unique Archaeology app, DigFinder. The Clover Creators are advancing to the Super-Regional Match at Grayson High School in Loganville on January 10th!
Elite Northeast Trivia Tournament
The Jackson County #2 Pencils attended the largest Elite NE Trivia Tournament since the tournament began, held at the Athens-Clarke County Extension Office. Over 90 attendees from 11 counties battled it out for the coveted Trivia Belt! Participants also brought presentation exhibits and participated in massive 80's themed Murder Mystery.
