Thanks for supporting our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week! Here is the link to our teachers' "Favorite Things".(Remember, we celebrated all other staff in our "Staff Appreciation" back in February. This is the NATIONAL Week specifically for teachers).

Students are invited to show their Star Wars spirit by wearing a Star Wars-themed t-shirt or other school appropriate themed attire (No swords, sabres, helmets, or face coverings, please)!

This is a fun way for students to participate and celebrate together. If your child chooses not to participate, they are still expected to follow the school dress code for the day.

Se invita a los estudiantes a demostrar su espíritu de Star Wars vistiendo una camiseta con temática de Star Wars u otra vestimenta temática apropiada para la escuela (¡por favor, nada de espadas, sables, cascos ni cubiertas faciales!).

Esta es una forma divertida para que los estudiantes participen y celebren juntos. Si su hijo decide no participar, se espera de todos modos que cumpla con el código de vestimenta escolar durante el día.

Parents of 5th grade boys and girls, you are encouraged to bring your 5th grader to the Maturation Presentation, where our school nurse will give to each gender, respectively, a presentation about how their bodies work and are changing. Our hope is that having you present with your kiddo will open up some opportunities for dialogue that might otherwise be tricky. Ultimately we trust you, the parent, to educate students about the birds and the bees (we'll stick to math and reading during the school day, thank you very much). We hope to see you and your 5th grader! (Note: while dads usually come with sons and moms, with daughters, this is not a requirement. We encourage any parent that can come with any kiddo, and in fact, I have LOADS of respect for the dad that comes with his daughter and the mom who comes with her son.

Padres de niños y niñas de 5.º grado, les invitamos a traer a sus hijos a la Presentación sobre Maduración, donde nuestra enfermera escolar les dará una presentación a cada género, respectivamente, sobre cómo funcionan sus cuerpos y los cambios que experimentan. Esperamos que su presencia junto a sus hijos abra oportunidades para dialogar sobre temas que de otra manera podrían ser difíciles. En última instancia, confiamos en ustedes, los padres, para educar a los estudiantes sobre la sexualidad (nosotros nos centraremos en matemáticas y lectura durante el horario escolar, muchas gracias). ¡Esperamos verlos a ustedes y a sus hijos de 5.º grado! (Nota: si bien los padres suelen venir con sus hijos varones y las madres con sus hijas, esto no es un requisito. Animamos a cualquier padre que pueda venir con cualquier niño, y de hecho, respeto muchísimo al padre que viene con su hija y a la madre que viene con su hijo.

Arthur is very curious and eager to learn. He asks thoughtful questions and doesn’t let not knowing an answer stop him. He is resilient and always tries his best to figure things out.

Quinn always works hard on her assignments and tries her best in everything she does.

Bryson is always kind and thoughtful to everyone.

Leo is so great at listening to others ideas and being open to new ways of doing things.

Oliver has learned and grown a lot this year because he will do things that are hard.

Paisley is a great example of being principled. She always does the right thing, even when the teacher is not watching .

Adonis is a wonderful student who is so well rounded. He loves to learn, loves to play sports, knows when to be respectful and when to be silly. He is a great leader in our classroom and is a great friend to others in the class.

Porter is always raising his hand to participate in conversations. He is able to express his ideas very clearly.

Trinity reflects on ways to be a good friend.

Mr. Gaastra and our SBO's delivered popcorn to classes who were excellent in recycling!
