PCHS Updates
May 22, 2026
Senior Awards Night
If your Senior is earning an award, you received an invitation via email today! We recognize this is a tight turnaround, as the event is next Wednesday, May 27 at 7pm in the PCHS Auditorium. Senior grades were finalized on Wednesday of this week, and we always want to make sure our data is as accurate as possible so every student who has earned a recognition is honored!
If you received an invitation to next Wednesday's event, please RSVP via the form in the invite email by Tuesday, May 26.
Medication Pick-Up
If your student has medication on file with us, a parent/guardian must pick it up by Friday, June 12 in the Main Office.
2026-2027 Registration Dates
Now that we know the first day of school is Monday, August 24, 2026, we can begin saving other dates!
Please save the following dates:
- Tuesday, August 11, from 9AM-Noon - 11th & 12th Grade Registration
- Wednesday, August 12, from 9AM-Noon - 9th & 10th Grade Registration
- Wednesday, August 12, 10AM: Test Out Administration (for those who registered by 6/5/26)
What happens at registration?
At registration, students get their school picture taken, receive their school ID, pay for parking passes, and get a hard copy of their class schedule and locker assignment, and 9th graders receive their school-issued Chromebooks. Registration also presents an opportunity to explore the building, find your classes, practice opening your locker, make athletic inquiries, potentially connect with clubs, donate to the PTO, etc.

Come support our students who have been working hard to write their own performances!

Summer School
If your student is in danger of failing or has failed a core class, please review the attached information carefully:
- 2026 Summer School Credit Recovery Info.
- Summer School Registration Form
- PCHS Online Learning Acknowledgment and Consent Form
Summer School Credit Recovery is the best way to ensure your student stays on track for graduation. Completing courses over the summer allows students to begin the next school year with a fresh start. Students who successfully complete their summer courses will earn a letter grade, which will be reflected on their high school transcript, calculated into their GPA, and will replace the original failing grade.
Summer school information can also be found on the high school website.
Testing Out of High School Courses
Students have the option of pursuing graduation credit of any Michigan Merit graduation required high school course by attaining a grade of C+ (78%) or higher on a comprehensive final exam or through an alternative assessment if a written exam is not appropriate. An alternative assessment may consist of a portfolio, performance, paper, project, or presentation. Credit earned shall be on a “pass” grade and shall not be included in a computation of grade point average for any purpose. The law states that credit will be earned toward PCHS graduation requirements, as well as state graduation requirements. For more information on testing out policies and procedures, please view the Test Out Information Sheet. If you have any questions about testing out/test out procedures, please reach out to Principal, Julia McBride (jmcbride@pinckneypirates.org).
If you'd like to attempt a test out, the 2026 PCHS Test Out Registration Form must be submitted by the last day of school, June 5, 2026.
Test Out will be administered on PCHS Registration Days in mid-August. Specific dates will be communicated once the school calendar has been finalized as a part of the current PEA bargaining process.
June Exam Schedule
Please review the following schedule to prepare for what the final 3 days of the school will look like!
Out-of-District CTE Program End Dates

All Things Class of 2026!
Graduation Rehearsal, Clap Out, & Picnic - 9AM-Noonish
On Thursday, May 28, a mandatory graduation rehearsal will take place in Pirate Stadium from approximately 9:00–10:00 a.m. Seniors should report to Pirate Stadium by 9:00 a.m. sharp, dressed in their cap and gown.
Following rehearsal, seniors will head into PCHS to prepare for the annual clap-out, where they will be celebrated as they exit the building.
Families who would like to attend the clap-out should plan to arrive at the high school by 9:45 a.m. Please sign in at the Main Office upon arrival, then proceed to the Commons to line up. Last year’s clap-out began around 10:15 a.m., though timing may vary depending on the length of rehearsal—arriving early is encouraged.
After the clap-out at PCHS, seniors will board buses to visit the other schools in the district so the entire community can celebrate their accomplishment (Route: Pathfinder, Navigator, Country, Farley).
Students will then return to PCHS for an optional picnic lunch.
Graduation Information
The Commencement Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 31 at 10:00am in Pirate Stadium.
If the weather is not conducive to an outdoor ceremony, we will make the call on Saturday to move the ceremony into the PCHS Gym.
Tickets: Each student received a sheet of 10 tickets with their cap & gown on the last day of school (May 15). These tickets will only be required if the ceremony is moved indoors. There is no maximum on guests in the stadium.
Seniors - Pay Off Balances in MiStar!
Parents/Guardians of Seniors: Please check your students Student Account Balance (SBA) in their MiStar Profile. Any remaining balance must be paid for your student to walk at graduation. Thank you!

Student & Staff Member of the Week!
Every week, students and staff have the opportunity to nominate a peer and PCHS staff member for recognition in the school, and for the student, recognition in The Livingston Daily. Nominations are based on how fellow Pirates are demonstrating the character strengths we prioritize in Pinckney Community Schools. Our Leadership & Link Crew class reviews nominations and selects each week's honorees. Enjoy learning about our excellent Pirates!!

PCHS Monthly STRENGTH: Teamwork
Across the month of May, we will capitalize on opportunities to put the character strength of TEAMWORK to work as a school community, during Seminar, class time, and in the day-to-day of our building. Take advantage of opportunities to touch upon this strength at home! In the image below, you can see the rationale for why the Leadership Class selected this strength to be the focus at this time in our school year.
Want to engage with this character strength at home? Check out this family resource page: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/9-12/teamwork/ You’ll find a quote, video, and questions to help you and your children discuss The Positivity Project’s character strength of teamwork.
