Yesterday students and staff across the district participated in a regional Lahar Drill. While schools in the valley practiced their evacuation routes, up on the hill here at Crestwood we Sheltered in Place. During the drill students learned more about what a Lahar is and how it could impact our region. We were so impressed with how well our students did during the drill. Even the youngest Orcas in our preschool enjoyed learning about and practicing staying safe in a potential emergency situation! They practiced drawing volcanoes, making them erupt and running away from the pretend lahar. They also made volcanoes out of blocks and practiced making them explode! Preparedness and practice helps us be ready in the event of a real emergency.

Elementary spring parent/teacher conferences are taking place March 27 and 28. On these days, elementary schools release students according to their early dismissal schedule, which varies by school. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Middle and high schools remain on their normal full-day schedule. There is NO AM or PM Preschool during conference half days!

Note: On these early dismissal days, elementary afternoon bus stop drop-off times will be 3.5 hours earlier than when students are currently dropped off.

Do you know a child who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31? Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2024-25 school year.
