Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
May 20th, 2022
A huge "THANK YOU" to the PTA and all community members who came out to make Pizza Bingo another wonderful community event last Friday night. The weather was lovely and the kids had a fantastic time. It was wonderful to see so many families here at school and in community.
Please see information below about our school's decision to revisit our mission, vision, and values. After a few years with significant changes (see, pandemic), the staff wants to embrace the opportunity to continue to refine and define who we are, what we do, and what we value most in an effort to stay connected and unify our work to best support our students. We want to honor what makes this school special while embracing how we can grow. And to do that -- we need your input! More information below.
Looking forward, we have many wonderful events on the horizon! Please see information below about Spring concert, food truck night, sports day and more! Please note that this coming Friday, May 27th is a Spirit Day - Red, White, and Blue day. Please have your child wear red, white, and blue next Friday.
Speaking of special days, below are the dates for grade level picnics. Teachers will communicate additional details:
1st Grade: June 9th
2nd Grade: June 10th
3rd Grade: June13th
4th Grade: June 7th
5th Grade: June 8th
In partnership,
-Mr. McComb

Revisiting LL Mission, Vision, and Values
To ensure that we gather input, we have created this survey to gather insight from parents and staff. We will then gather a group of staff and community members to theme responses and update our mission, vision, and values to better capture who we are and set our course ahead. If you have interest in participating in that process, please submit your name through the survey. We will meet over the summer.
Thanks in advance for taking a few minutes to share with us what makes you proud of Lutherville Lab, what you see as the purpose for our work, and what you'd like for us to be known for in the future.
Pizza Bingo was a Blast!
“Gym-NEWS-ium” PE News and Notes from Mr. Bruns
Lutherville Lab Sports Day
- Grades 3-5, (9:30am-3:00pm) Friday 5/27/22 (Rain Date, 5/31)
- Primary Sports Day K-2, (1:30-3:00) Thursday, 6/2/22 (Rain Date, 6/7)
The following are a few things to keep in mind when helping your child get ready for school on Sports Day:
· You must wear sneakers (no sandal type of shoes with any part of the foot exposed)
· Wear comfortable play clothes and sunscreen
· Bring a water bottle filled with water with your name on it (we will have numerous opportunities to refill water bottles)
· All students must bring an extra t-shirt/towel to participate at the water relay / water balloon toss station
We would love for parents and guardians to join us on Sports Day. We are looking for volunteers to help run the activities on the day of the event. Volunteers will be assigned to an area where they will organize the children for a game/ activity. The equipment will be set up for volunteers with easy-to-follow directions. The children have played the majority of the games, so the students will be familiar with many of the activities. I appreciate any help making Sports Day possible. All volunteers must be on the approved volunteer list.
The volunteer forms for both Sports Days are attached.
