Dear Academy Families and Friends,

I hope this finds you warm and well. This past week we had data meetings to look at student progress and growth as well as our School Council and Parent Council meetings. We're really starting to make headway in planning an amazing second half of the year. As we are past the midpoint, Kindergarten, which runs on a semester basis, will have report cards and progress reports available on Friday through the Aspen Family Portal.

This week, 4th grade will be visiting the WHS Planetarium. We also have a half day of school and our monthly ROAR assemblies. On Thursday night, we'll have the return of Book Bingo...one of our favorite family night traditions. As things continue to pick up momentum, please be sure to look at all of the buttons and flyers attached to the weekly newsletter as there's a lot of great events coming soon to Academy.

Grade 5 Residency Verification: This fall the Weymouth School Committee updated Policy JF: School Admissions to require a verification of residency for students in Grade 5. Families of students in Grade 5 will need to re-establish residency in Weymouth before transitioning to the Maria Weston Chapman Middle School next year. This procedure will enable our district to maintain accurate residency and registration data while confirming continued enrollment eligibility. Required proof of residency documents must be submitted between January 12, 2026, and May 29, 2026. Failure to complete residency verification by May 29, 2026 may affect your child’s enrollment, and they may not have a schedule or be able to participate in school activities at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

"Weymouth Public Schools Wraparound Resource Center offers an ongoing, free, in-person support group for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. This group continues to provide a welcoming space for caregivers to connect with others in similar situations, share experiences, and access helpful resources.
