Principal's Message
Greetings KP Community,
Last Sunday, we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of the Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of all they accomplished during their time at KP and grateful for the many ways they contributed to our school community. As they begin the next chapter of their lives, we wish them the very best in their future endeavors and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in the years ahead.
While we celebrate our graduates, the school year is not quite over. We have two days of classes remaining before final assessments begin on Wednesday, and it is important for students to remain focused and finish the year strong. These final days provide valuable opportunities to review, prepare, and demonstrate all that has been learned throughout the year.
Finally, congratulations to our Varsity Baseball and Varsity Softball teams on their incredible State Championship victories this weekend. Their hard work, perseverance, and commitment throughout the season culminated in a remarkable achievement, and we are proud to celebrate this success with the entire KP community.

General Counseling Updates - Summer Assignments
Summer Assignments
Summer assignments are a great way to hit the ground running in September and they matter more than you might think! Completing your summer work helps you stay sharp, keeps important skills fresh, and sets you up for a stronger start to the new school year.
Summer assignments are graded and count toward your first quarter grade, so getting them done on time is key. Set aside a little time each week rather than saving it all for the end of August; your future self will thank you!
Click HERE for the summer assignments. There are assignments for all English and Math courses, AP courses, and Middlesex Community College courses at KP.

Family Wellness
Is your teen in need of counseling support?
As the end of the school year approaches, it's a good time to check in with your child and line up mental health support, if needed. For our King Philip students and families, Care Solace and Cartwheel can provide options.
Care Solace
King Philip Schools continues to partner with Care Solace, a care match service that connects students or their family members to available outside mental health and substance use providers.
Care Solace provides 24/7/365, multi-lingual support
Provides connection to in-person or virtual providers that meet your needs
Care Solace is available to you throughout the summer
Cartwheel
King Philip Counselors have been piloting Cartwheel this school year to increase access to care. With the availability of a limited number of slots remaining, we would like to share with families who may be interested in considering this for their teen at this time.
Through our partnership with Cartwheel, your family has access to:
Appointments with a licensed therapist within days
Virtual, flexible scheduling — evenings and weekends available throughout the summer
Care is available in multiple languages including English and Spanish
Free with Medicaid; most private insurance accepted
Multi- lingual clinicians
Cartwheel also offers parent guidance sessions, an opportunity to ask questions, talk through concerns, and get practical support for everyday challenges. You don’t need a referral or a crisis to reach out. Services started in June will continue through the summer. Get started by filling out this simple interest form or contact your child’s counselor.
Talk to your child’s school counselor about these options or other resources to support your child.
Parking Lot Update
All our student parking spots are filled at this time. If your student does not have an assigned spot, the student is not allowed to park on campus. Unauthorized cars will be ticketed and may be towed at the owner's expense.
A reminder to all our drivers- Seniors may not sublet or rent their parking space to any underclassman after their last day of classes. They will still be using their parking space until the end of the school year for exams, material drop off days, graduation rehearsal, and sports, etc.
*Seniors - please continue to park in your registered spot.
The student parking lot is monitored daily.
School Meals & Free and Reduced Meal Applications
If your student is eligible for Free & Reduced Meals, with their parents permission, KPHS Administration is able to share their information with other departments to offer discounted pricing on other things such as Prom tickets, SAT tests, club activities and more. If you are interested in sharing this information please complete the attached form Sharing Information Form
Universal Free School Meals for All Students
Governor Healey and the Massachusetts Legislature have made Massachusetts the 8th state to make School Meals for All permanent, beginning immediately for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year! School meals will be offered at no cost to all students.
Free and Reduced Cost Meals Application
Please note that even though meals will be free for all, it is very important for families in need to still complete the household Application for Free and Reduced Price Meals for the 2025-2026 school year. This allows districts to establish eligibility for other federal benefits and school programs. Families who have been eligible for Free and Reduced Meals in the past must apply again for 2025-2026. Please know that the application is confidential with only the Director of Food Services and administrators having access. All students receive the same meals.

For more information on the School Meals Program, please visit the food services page on the district's website, King Philip Schools Food Services Department.
Updates from Nurse’s Office
News from the Nurses Office:
Parents/guardians - Please be aware that if your child feels ill while at school - please encourage them to visit the nurse's office for evaluation. If we deem it medically necessary, you will be contacted and we will excuse the dismissal. If a student dismisses themselves without being seen by the nurses, their dismissal cannot be excused ( without a doctor's note).
Please keep your students home if they are ill. This includes: fever (greater than 100 degrees and your child may return to school only after their temperature has been consistently below 100 degrees, by mouth, for a minimum of 24 hours), vomiting (even once) and diarrhea.
WE do not carry OR provide cold/cough medicine. We do not carry OR provide Claritin or Allegra
( allergy medicine). The Benadryl we have in the office is for anaphylactic events .
Dismissal Reminders
Dismissals must be done in person at the Main Office or by Email
If you need to dismiss your student during the school day you must either come into the office and sign them out in person or you can email hsattendance@kingphilip.org. Dismissals are not done over the phone. If at all possible, please email at the beginning of the school day. Only excused absences allow students to make up missed work. The KPRHS Student Handbook lists what constitutes an excused absence.
Please note: Juniors do not have 'senior' privileges and are not allowed to leave during the school day. The consequence for any student leaving school without permission is a Saturday Detention for the first offense.
