As we gear up for the new school year, we wanted to send a quick update your way with a few important reminders, upcoming dates, and helpful info to keep you in the loop. This summer, we’ve proudly provided more than 22,300 free meals for children through our summer meal programs!

• Weekly Meal Kit Pickup: Mondays (registration opens one week in advance)

• Daily Open Sites: Weekday breakfast and lunch available at multiple locations

If your K-12 student will need bus transportation for the upcoming school year, First Student kindly asks all families to complete their online request form by July 25. This helps ensure routes are set and ready to go for a smooth start to the year. Thank you for helping us keep things rolling! 🚍

Big thanks to our incredible maintenance and custodial teams who’ve been moving mountains (and plenty of furniture!) to get our schools ready for an amazing year. From deep cleans to significant upgrades, these behind-the-scenes heroes have been busy!

Here are just a few of the projects happening this summer:

• GHS Auditorium Renovation: Plans and bids are being finalized to upgrade the air handling units. This performance space will be unavailable for a significant portion of next school year, but we’re excited to showcase our talented Bulldogs at the Midwest Theater this fall!

• Preschool Expansion at Northfield & Geil: Each campus is adding one new classroom, bringing us to 10 preschool classrooms for the 2025–26 school year!

• GHS Links Relocation: GHS Links has officially moved to the GHS campus.

• Geil Safety Upgrade: Geil Elementary’s front entrance is being reconfigured for enhanced safety.

Our Bulldog campers are having the time of their lives as they fill up their Camp Passport! From treasure hunts to theme days, this summer has been packed with fun, friendships, and big adventures.

Thanks to special guests, community partners, and the amazing YMCA Camp Staff, this experience has been nothing short of incredible.
