Weymouth Early Childhood Center
2025-2026
March 22, 2026
Good Morning,
This week, the students explored the curriculum topic: “What changes in each season?” Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, students discovered the unique features that make each season special. The students had the opportunity to connect creativity with learning by crafting a variety of seasonal works of art and listening to stories about the changes each season brings. The curriculum topic was a wonderful way to introduce early science skills as well as language and vocabulary growth.
How You Can Support Learning at Home:
Take a walk outside and talk about what you notice—weather, plants, and changes in nature
Read books about seasons and discuss similarities and differences
Encourage your child to draw or describe their favorite season
There was so much excitement celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! The children worked thoughtfully and creatively to design and build leprechaun traps, hoping to catch a mischievous visitor. While no leprechaun was captured, we did discover some silly shenanigans left behind—clear evidence that a sneaky leprechaun had visited our classroom! Through this fun and engaging activity, students strengthened important skills, including problem-solving and critical thinking, creativity and imagination, fine motor development, along with collaboration and teamwork.
Classes are reading the story “Kindness Grows.” This book tells the story of a tree that grows bigger and stronger with acts of kindness. The story shows how small, kind actions make a big difference. This book supports our students’ social-emotional development as we talk about the positive impact of being kind. To connect with the story, we will be creating our own school wide kindness tree. As we see acts of kindness such as helping a friend, sharing, using kind words, etc., the kind act will be written on a leaf and added to the tree. Just like in the story, our tree will grow with kindness!
