December 16, 2022
Dear Families!
On Tuesday, December 20th are the KRS annual sing-a-longs. Families with students in grades kindergarten, first, and second are invited to attend the 9:30 AM sing-a-long. Families with students in grades three, four, and five are invited to attend the 10:20 AM sing-a-long. Band director Mr. Rossi will be our sing-a-long master of ceremonies. The sing-a-longs are designed not as performances, but times for all of us to convene together and sing.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kathy Koop

News from Nurse Moran
News from the Nurse
Tis the season! As you may be aware, King Road School is experiencing several cases of respiratory illness including but not limited to Covid-19, Flu and RSV. In order to help stop the spread of all illnesses at school, please do a daily health check on your child.
Daily Health Check: Please assess your child’s health on a daily basis prior to him/her entering school. If your child has any of the following new and unexplained symptoms, keep them home.
- Fever of 100.0 or higher, as measured without fever reducing medicine
- Cough that is persistent (moist)
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Loss of taste or smell
- Fatigue
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Please keep your child at home to monitor their conditions and contact your healthcare provider if symptoms do not improve before returning to school.
24 Hour Rule: Students should be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication, have not vomited or had diarrhea for 24 hours and be tolerating a regular diet before returning to school.
To help reduce the spread of illness at school, please remind your children to wash their hands often and before meals/snacks, cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing, and cough and sneeze into their elbows.
I also recommend that families pack hand sanitizer or wipes for their children to use before/after snacks and during lunch.
Reporting of an absence or illness: Please report your child absent daily by calling the absence line at 973-593-3178 option #1 and state your child’s name and class. In addition, please be as specific as possible when describing your child’s symptoms.
Wishing you all a very happy and healthy holiday season!!
