Hello Calais Cougars!

I’m happy to report back positive changes on our recent recess challenges. We spent two weeks focusing on community and inclusion and limit setting on competitive games. In week three, we reintroduced competitive games with close supervision and parameters for how to problem solve. This week’s recess was so much better. Our students are growing their skills! We went from regulating recess, to co-regulating recess, to students being supervised while regulating themselves. We want our students to be responsible, connected, and inclusive and they are doing a great job!

We are off this afternoon with a three day weekend in observance of Memorial Day. I say that with huge appreciation for a long weekend! And….Memorial Day is a day set aside to honor those who have died in service to our country and that holds real meaning for me. While I enjoy my long weekend, I’ll be sure to set aside a moment of remembrance for the fallen.

Thank you,

Ms. Cat, CES Principal

Dear Calais community members,

The Friends of Calais is very pleased to host the annual high school graduation celebration with an Ice Cream Social on Thursday, May 30th from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at the Calais Town Hall. We are so proud of how far our Calais seniors have come and look forward to celebrating their future!

We have invited our past poets and singers but also welcome our community members to reach out if they are interested in honoring our graduates during the event. All community members are encouraged to RSVP via this email.

Graduates and families:
1. Share any digital photos of your graduate with Adrian Wade-Keeney for a presentation during the celebration--email to Awade@u32.org.
2. All Calais graduates at U-32 will receive an invitation in the mail with an RSVP option in the coming week.

We look forward to a fun and festive evening!
