Our Mt. Vernon Carnival was a huge success! Families enjoyed a fun-filled evening with great food, delicious treats, exciting games, and amazing prizes. Events like this are only possible because of the hard work and dedication of our PTA. Thank you to our PTA members, volunteers, staff, and families who helped make this such a memorable event for our students and community. We appreciate all that you do to support Mt. Vernon!

Student Technology Update for 2026-2027 Student Technology Update for 2026-2027

Springfield Public Schools is updating elementary student device procedures for the 2026-27 school year based on feedback from families and staff. Elementary students will continue using district-issued devices during the school day, but devices will no longer routinely go home unless specifically checked out for educational purposes.

All elementary student devices, chargers, and dongles must be returned to Mt. Vernon by Friday, June 5 so the Technology Services team can inspect, clean, repair, and prepare devices for next school year. Families can help by returning all accessories and encouraging students to remove personal stickers or labels before turn-in. Springfield Public Schools will continue maintaining a one-to-one student device ratio, and additional information about procedures for next year will be shared before school begins.

Our K-2 students had the exciting opportunity to participate in BookFest and each selected five books to take home and keep. Seeing the smiles on students' faces as they chose books they were excited to read was a highlight of the day. A huge thank you to the United Way of Lane County for sponsoring this wonderful event and helping foster a love of reading in our students.
