Warhawk Culture - Fall Season Success
As we wrap up an outstanding fall season, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible accomplishments of our student–athletes and student performers across all programs. This season truly embodied the core values of our Warhawk Blueprint—Better Together, Pursue Excellence, and Own It. Our students supported one another, pushed through challenges, and represented Westerville Central with pride in every arena.
Across Cross Country, Boys Golf, Girls Tennis, Cheer, Soccer, Marching Band, and Football, our students earned numerous Scholar Athlete Awards, All-Conference and All-District honors, OCC Scholar Athlete recognitions, district qualification, state qualification, and major program achievements. Their commitment to excellence in both academics and extracurriculars continues to inspire Warhawk Nation.
Our success this fall would not be possible without the dedication of so many:
To our coaches: thank you for your leadership, mentorship, and the countless hours you dedicate to developing our student–athletes.
To our staff: thank you for supporting our students academically, socially, and emotionally throughout an intense fall season.
To our parents and families: your partnership, encouragement, and support at every practice, competition, and event make a powerful difference.
And to our student–athletes and student performers: thank you for showcasing what it means to be a Warhawk—your hard work, sportsmanship, and commitment to our community make us proud every day.
Thank you for an unforgettable fall season. We look forward to building on this momentum as we continue to grow, compete, perform, and celebrate together.

COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SENIORS
Every year individuals, organizations, and businesses come together to provide scholarships to our seniors. Please see timeline below:
Week of 11/10: A list of available scholarships will be communicated via email, Schoology and sent out via School Messenger. It will also be in Ms. Sayre's Weekly Family Update the following Sunday.
At this time, students should be identifying the scholarships they qualify for as well as collecting documents needed: digital copy of letters of recommendation (all students will need one), essays, resume, etc.
December 8: The online portal for the application will go live and the link will be communicated via email, Schoology and Ms. Sayre's Weekly Family Update.
Application will close on January 9, 2026 at 3pm.
ALL college-bound students should plan to apply. Scholarships are not just based on GPA. Scholarships also focus on memorials-losing a loved one, community service, sports/activities, careers (engineering, education, etc), elementary and middle schools attended, etc.
Class of 2026 - Honors Diploma Information
Attention Seniors!! Interested in earning an Honors Diploma? Please share your intent to pursue one of the six Honors Diplomas by completing this survey. Complete the intent survey 11:59pm on Monday, November 24th so your school counselor and the WCS College and Career Readiness Office can provide additional guidance and follow up throughout the school year.
What are Honors Diplomas?
High school students can gain state recognition for exceeding Ohio’s graduation requirements through an honors diploma. To meet honors diploma requirements, students challenge themselves by taking and succeeding at high-level coursework and in real-world experiences.
Warhawk Culture
The Westerville Central High School Hall of Fame honors graduates who have distinguished themselves through excellence, leadership, and service beyond their years at Central. Established to celebrate the enduring impact of our alumni, this recognition reflects the values that define the Warhawk community—Pursue Excellence, Better Together, and Own It.
Candidates must have graduated from Westerville Central High School at least ten years ago and should exemplify these core values through their personal and professional achievements. We seek to honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional success in their careers, made meaningful contributions to their fields, and positively influenced their communities and society as a whole.
The Hall of Fame program is coordinated by the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee at Westerville Central High School in collaboration with the district’s School/Community Relations Office.
We welcome and encourage nominations for any deserving Westerville Central graduate. Please note that nominators are responsible for ensuring their nominee’s availability to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and luncheon on Friday, April 17, 2026.
NOMINATION DEADLINE: January 31, 2026

School Clinic
Happy Fall Warhawk Families!
‘Tis the (cold and flu) Season…
Is your child not feeling their best? When they’re sick, the best way to recover -and protect others- is to rest at home. Students can return to school once fever free for 24 hours and symptoms have improved. Our school clinics follow all Ohio Department of Health guidelines to help manage and prevent the spread of illnesses and communicable diseases. Please let me know if your child is diagnosed with any contagious condition. We report these to our local health departments in accordance with public health requirements.
If your student becomes ill at school…
Please remind your student to check in with the clinic if they are not feeling well. We will evaluate their symptoms and then notify you directly if needed. Take a moment to review your child’s emergency contacts listed in Powerschool and make sure it is up to date. This allows someone other than you to pick up your child if you are not able to. If you need to add anyone to the list or make any changes, contact our guidance secretary, Carrie Shaffer, at shafferc@westerville.k12.oh.us.
Parents of Juniors:
Please start planning to get your student the REQUIRED Meningitis MCV4 booster before their senior year next fall. These can be done at your child’s annual well visit, local health departments, pharmacies, or health clinics. I am happy to help with scheduling if needed!
