Five students from the Greenhouse Production class went on a field trip on September 25th. The first stop was Cultivated Coffee in Kersey, CO. Students learned about the capital it took to put in the coffee shop, the importance of quality coffee beans, and how the owner strives to educate people about agriculture through her business. The next stop was Hungenberg Produce, where they are currently harvesting over 1 million pounds of carrots per day. Students learned the process the carrots go through from field to store.
