Mrs. Gonzalez's Weekly Update
Good afternoon Raider families,
There’s so much happening in our Raider community, and we don’t want you to miss a thing! Fall Fest is coming October 23, and we hope you’ll join us for the fun! Be sure to check out the newsletter for details about our upcoming Jog-a-thon on October 29 and the guidelines for Halloween costumes, which students may wear on October 30.
A big thank-you to our PTSA for organizing the Handel’s Ice Cream fundraiser! It looked like everyone enjoyed this sweet treat, especially with the warm weather we’ve been having. We appreciate all the PTSA does to bring our school community together!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Coffee with the Principal today, Friday, October 9. It was a lovely opportunity to connect and chat! If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry. We’ll share the recording in our next newsletter. Mark your calendar for the next Coffee with the Principal on November 13!
A couple of important reminders: Reflections submissions and the sixth-grade camp pink Health and Registration Form are both due October 15. All sixth-grade families must return the form, whether their child plans to attend camp or not. This helps us reserve spots and plan for all students.
As we wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month and celebrate Filipino American History Month, here’s a fun fact:Did you know Filipino American farmworkers helped launch the historic Delano Grape Strike in California in 1965? Labor leader Larry Itliong helped organize the strike, and Filipino and Mexican farmworkers joined forces to fight for better working conditions
Take a few minutes to explore the newsletter for all the details, helpful links, and ways to get involved, including connecting with our PTSA and EFBMMS Foundation.
Thanks for being part of our Raider family, and we hope to see you at Fall Fest!
Your proud principal,
Bonnie Gonzalez
