COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

Misconceptions and errors may result if students do not know the names and/ or values of certain coins or bills. Errors may also result if students:

  • confuse the cent and dollar symbols.
  • confuse the values of two or more coins.
  • compare two amounts incorrectly.
  • make addition or subtraction errors.
