Dear Isaac Fox Families,

As we head into the extended winter break, the past few weeks have been filled with learning, laughter, and excitement throughout Isaac Fox. Our students and staff have worked hard and accomplished so much, and we are incredibly proud of all that has taken place. This season is a wonderful time to pause, rest, and connect with family and friends as we recharge for the months ahead. We wish our entire Isaac Fox community peace, joy, and the very best in the new year. There is truly no limit to what Isaac Fox can accomplish when we learn and grow together. Please make sure to take some time to review all of the information below as it provides important dates and updates to keep you in the loop of all that is happening and moments to celebrate here at Isaac Fox!

We look forward to welcoming students back to school on January 6th, but until then, enjoy a well-deserved break!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kelly Olivero
Principal, Isaac Fox Elementary

Maitri Juuvadi Honored as Isaac Fox's December Student of the Month!

Congratulations to Maitri Juuvadi who was honored at last night's LZ District 95 Board Meeting. Maitri exemplifies the Portrait of a Graduate traits each day in our classroom. She is a global citizen, consistently creating an inclusive environment where every classmate feels welcomed and supported. As an advocate for herself and others, she regularly offers help to peers and contributes positively to group work by listening, encouraging others, and ensuring that everyone is included. Maitri is a self-directed learner who puts forth her best effort, remains focused, and demonstrates responsibility in both her behavior and her academic choices. She approaches challenges with a growth-oriented mindset, eagerly applying new learning and integrating feedback to improve her work. Through her words and actions, Maitri is an effective communicator who models respect, kindness, and clarity in her interactions. Her consistent demonstration of these traits makes her a standout student who truly embodies the district’s vision. Maitri, you should be SO proud!

Student Council Representatives Hold Their First Meeting!

Student Council representatives at Isaac Fox recently held their first meeting, officially launching a year of student leadership and voice. 3rd-5th Grade representatives were selected through an application and classroom election process, ensuring students demonstrated responsibility, commitment, and a desire to serve their peers. During their first meeting, students began learning about their roles, discussing ways to positively impact our school community, and planning for the year ahead. We are proud of these students for stepping into leadership and appreciate the partnership of our teachers and families in making Student Council a success.

Congratulations to this year's group of leaders!

Teachers Make A Difference Nominations- Now Being Accepted!

Annually, District 95 takes time to recognize its exceptional staff members. The Teachers Make a Difference Award is designed to recognize those teachers who have represented our mission and gone far beyond normal expectations in supporting or motivating a student or group of students. We hope each family will consider this opportunity to complete a nomination and share their own appreciation for our educators!

Click here to complete a nomination for the Teachers Make a Difference Awards

All nominations are due by midnight on January 9, 2026.

From the many nominations we anticipate receiving, a selection committee of district administrators will select three of our outstanding educators to be honored in front of their peers during our annual staff awards program. Winning teachers will also receive a monetary award toward the use of professional development or other educational resources to continue to support their exceptional work with students as well as to further their professional development.

Our IF Band and Orchestra played and the Chorus sang various holiday tunes while students entered the building on Wednesday and Thursday this week! It is such a treat to see all these groups have accomplished in such as short amount of time. It certainly brought a smile to all of our Foxes faces!

Crossing Deerpath - Please use crosswalk!

When dropping off or picking up your student, parents are able to park in the lot near the soccer fields located along Deerpath Road. During these time, we ask families to please cross only within the designated crosswalk area from the soccer field parking lot to the school grounds. Guardians, staff, and buses all use this route, and it can become quite busy during these times. By following crosswalk procedures and traffic expectations, you help ensure the safety of all members of our community while also modeling positive habits for our children. Thank you for doing your part to keep Isaac Fox a safe and caring place for everyone.

No Left Turn During Drop Off TIme

There have been an increase in the number of cars that have been avoiding the car drop off line and turning left to drop off directly in front of the main entrance. It is vital that our bus line remains open during this time. As you enter through the front entrance off Cuba Rd., please turn right and follow the drop off line. Our supervisors ensure that the line moves with efficiecy and also remains safe. Your cooperation is appreciated!

Car Pool Lane Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

When dropping off or picking up your student in the car lane near MSS, it is important that you remain in your car at all times. Students need to be exiting the vehicle on the side nearest the sidewalk and schools. If students need help unbuckling, buckling, gathering and carrying items, then it is best to park in a spot in front of MSS or alternatively use the back lot near the soccer field and walk your child into school. Following this procedure helps maintain safety and efficiency as we get our students from home to school and back again each day. Thank you for your cooperation!

If you need to communicate with your child during the school day, please contact the school office. This includes times such as lunch and recess. Our office staff will make sure your message is delivered or will connect you with your child if it’s necessary in the moment.

We also remind students that if they need to reach you, they should always ask an adult in the building for assistance. Please take a moment to talk with your child about what to do if they need to contact you during the school day and model appropriate communication practices.

By following this process, students can stay focused on learning, and our staff can best support them if a need arises. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership!

Parent Student Handbook: 6.80 Student Use of Electronic Devices

Parent Communication Guidelines

School staff work diligently to create environments that foster learning with minimal distractions. A personal electronic device (i.e., cell phone, smart watch) can be a distraction for a student during the school day. District 95 seeks to partner with parents/guardians so that we can minimize distractions during class time. To this end, parents are discouraged from communicating to their student's personal electronic device during school hours – apart from exceptional/emergency situations.

Pick up Time and Change in Transportation Method

We strongly discourage students from being dismissed between 2:30-2:50 pm due to the dismissal lines and buses at that time. If you need to pick your child up early, please arrange for a time prior to 2:30pm.

Understand that no changes in student transportation will be made without a written or verbal request from a parent or guardian.

Once we have established your designated travel, you must notify your child’s teacher and the office in writing or via phone call each time a change is made from that routine. If a change in transportation is necessary please adhere to the following guidelines: Notify the office of the dismissal change via note or phone call prior to 2pm.
