Superintendent's Message
October 2025
June 11, 2026
Dear Families and Community Members,
As we wrap up the 2025–26 school year, the past few weeks have given us so many opportunities to celebrate the incredible growth and accomplishments of our learners. From Celebrations of Learning and art showcases, to performances, field days, and outdoor experiences, our schools have been filled with joy, creativity, and a deep sense of community.
One highlight was listening to the amazing Terra Linda and Central Middle School Jazz Bands perform at Hometown Days. It was a wonderful reminder that the opportunities we provide for students are made possible through the strong partnership between our schools, our families, and our community. Whether you volunteer your time, support the San Carlos Education Foundation, or simply make sure your child is at school each day, your involvement helps create the conditions for students to thrive. The dedication of our talented educators is amplified by your support, and together we make extraordinary things happen for children. That partnership is reflected everywhere, from the vibrant Art in Action displays and middle school art shows to the confidence students demonstrate as they present projects, perform on stage, and explore new learning experiences. These moments are a testament to the hard work, curiosity, and resilience of our students, guided by caring adults both at school and at home.
Last week, we celebrated another exciting milestone with the ceremonial groundbreaking for the next phase of our Measure H projects. When you return in the fall, every school will benefit from improved air quality and enhanced learning environments through the next round of HVAC upgrades. We’re also looking forward to new windows, doors, and roofing improvements that will maximize the impact of these investments and create even better spaces for teaching and learning.
Yesterday we celebrated another important milestone as 286 eighth graders from Central and Tierra Linda Middle School were promoted to high school. And today across our elementary schools, third and fifth grade students took part in cherished "clap out" traditions, marking their transitions with the encouragement and applause of their school communities. These celebrations remind us that every ending is also the beginning of a new adventure.
As the school year comes to a close, teachers, staff, students, and families have certainly earned a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together. Thank you for your partnership, your support, and the trust you place in us each day. Together, we are shaping not only successful students, but kind, curious, and capable young people who will make a positive difference in the world.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back in August. Until then, we wish you and your family a safe, restful, and beautiful summer.
Warmly,
Jennifer
