Spring has SPRUNG here at the Child Development Center...and our littles are loving this warm weather!
We had an outstanding February with our pet study...and are looking forward to even more fun this March! Just as a reminder to parents, our PreK Selection Drawing will be held on March 11th at 2:30pm. If you have not registered your child for PreK, please do so by March 9th.

Our PreK friends in POD 2 were excited to welcome Dr. Grover Brown and Peyton from the Jax State Biology Department.
They allowed our students to learn about turtles, frogs and toads, salamanders, alligators, and even a chicken snake!

Welcome Valencia K9 Academy!
The littles of the CDC were excited to welcome Mr. Sergio from Valencia K9 Academy TWICE this past month!
First, we visited with Oakleigh - who is training to become a Therapy Dog for Oxford City Schools. We enjoyed getting to watch her learn in an active school!
Next, we received a visit from crowd favorite, Muinin! Muinin has joined us every year since we kicked off our Pet Study, and her visit is always one of the biggest highlights of this unit (right up there with all of our other amazing guest visitors!).
Thank you Valencia K9 Academy LLC for taking the time to explain the importance of a service dog, the dedication and training that goes into caring for one, and how service dogs help people in their everyday lives and so much more. We are so grateful for this special experience!

Our friends discussed what each color means, played "Red Light, Green Light" in the classroom, then went for a drive outside...stopping at all the red lights!

Our one-year-old friends got to help make their own strawberry shortcake for snack!
They used the following steps to make them...
1. We picked out a plate & put shortbread on it.
2. Add a spoon full of strawberries.
3. Add whipped cream.
4. Add sprinkles!
