November 2024 Newsletter
End of 1st quarter is November 8th!
📣 Families! Here's What's Happening This Month:
As we welcome November, we are excited to reflect on the progress our students have made during the first quarter of the school year. With the end of this quarter approaching on November 8th, it's a great time for parents to connect with teachers and ensure our students are on track for success.
As we look forward to Thanksgiving break from November 27-29, we want to remind you to keep an eye out for information regarding parent-teacher conferences scheduled for later this month. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about your child's growth and achievements.
We are also gearing up for our Veterans Day assemblies on November 11th, a time for us to honor those who have served our country. Additionally, don't forget to turn your clocks back on Sunday, November 3rd, as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end.
With the arrival of cooler temperatures, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather, especially during recess. We appreciate your support in helping our students stay comfortable and focused during this transitional season.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. Let’s make this November a month of growth and gratitude!
"Lovely November, Have you seen my heart...in your castle of yellow leaves?" 🍂
Kellogg School District 391 is pleased to share an exciting development that has been in the works for several months. We have launched a new initiative that will benefit student bus routes.
We have partnered with BusRight, a transportation technology startup, to provide you with real-time updates on your child's school bus route through a user-friendly mobile app. The BusRight app will enable you to:
- Track your child's bus in real-time.
- Receive notifications when the bus starts and completes its route.
- View the expected arrival time at your child’s designated bus stop.
- Access important communications from the Transportation Department.
Invitations to participate in our beta rollout of the app were sent to your email on October 14, 2024, from support@busright.com with the subject line “You’re invited to BusRight.” This invitation includes a link to create your BusRight account, which officially launched on the morning of October 16, 2024. Also, attached to the email, you will find a guide to the BusRight app, which includes download links, training videos, and more information.
We are collaborating closely with the BusRight team to ensure the system runs smoothly. We appreciate your patience as we work through any necessary improvements.
Please note that if you log in and see that the bus appears to be offline, this does not mean the route is inactive. This could be due to several reasons:
- The bus has completed its route and returned to the bus lot, where it may be turned off.
- The driver is using a spare vehicle that is not equipped with BusRight’s GPS tracking.
- Technical issues may prevent the GPS tracking system from being online.
- If the route does not appear in your list, it may not be assigned to you in the BusRight system. In that case, please reach out to the Transportation Department at 208-784-0061 or via email at michelle.tryon@kelloggschools.org or lisa.backman@kelloggschools.org.
If you have students on routes not yet launched on BusRight, you may still see their live location, but it may not be accurate until officially activated.
For questions or issues regarding the BusRight app, please contact support@busright.com. For inquiries about your child's bus stop or route, reach out to the Transportation Department at the numbers and emails listed above.
Thank you for your attention. We look forward to enhancing your experience with our transportation services!
