Dear parents and caregivers,

This week began with our Whole School Photo Days on Monday and Tuesday. Our students looked fantastic, wearing their uniforms with pride. Thank you to all parents and caregivers for ensuring the children were presented so neatly. Once again, the 3P Photography team commented on the beautiful behaviour of our students throughout the two days!

Last Friday, our P&F hosted a highly successful Pyjama Disco, bringing students and families together for an enjoyable afternoon and evening filled with music, dancing, and community spirit. Events such as these play an important role in strengthening the connections that make our school such a special place. A heartfelt thank you goes to the P&F and the many parent volunteers whose generosity, hard work, and enthusiasm ensured the event's success. Additionally, to our staff for taking time out of their own busy schedules to support the P&F and families. Your continued support of our P&F and school community is sincerely appreciated.

Tomorrow, we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a significant occasion in the Catholic Church that honours Mary's Assumption into Heaven, body and soul, and reflects her special closeness to God. Students in Years Five and Six will join the St Anthony’s Parish community for Mass, and we thank them and their teachers for the reverence and respect they bring to this important celebration.

The flu season remains very much with us, with a significant number of students and staff continuing to be affected. We kindly ask families to keep children at home if they are unwell and to only return them to school once they are feeling better and ready to fully participate in their learning. Your support in helping us maintain a healthy school environment is greatly appreciated.

Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the students, staff, and parents who took the time to send messages and kind wishes for Principal Appreciation Day on Wednesday. Your thoughtfulness and generosity were truly touching. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a caring, supportive, and connected school community, and I am grateful for the privilege of serving as your Principal.

Have a lovely weekend.

God bless

Rebecca Clarke

Dear Families and Caregivers,

What a wonderful and eventful week we had last week, finishing with an amazing School Disco! A huge thank you to our P&F and wonderful volunteers for all of the time, effort and organisation that went into making the evening such a success. The smiles on the children’s faces said it all! A special thank you also to our staff who joined in the fun and danced the night away. Our students absolutely loved sharing the dance floor, laughter and excitement with their teachers!

Today, we celebrated Principal’s Appreciation Day. Thank you to our amazing staff, students and families for your thoughtful messages and kind words, which helped make the day extra special.

Tomorrow, our Year 4 students will join the students from St Anthony’s for their Sacrament of First Holy Communion Retreat. We hope the day provides a meaningful opportunity for our students to reflect and grow together as they continue preparing for this very special step in their faith journey.

Good luck to our Year 2 students who will be performing their Liturgical Dance at the Spirit of the Arts next week! Mrs Clarkson has been busy preparing and organising your costumes and we cannot wait to see you shine on stage!

We wish everyone a wonderful weekend.

God Bless

Kadir Mastan and Brooke Davison

Our latest Wellness Wednesday was another great opportunity for our students and families to choose active ways to travel to school as part of our Your Move journey. It was fantastic to see students walking, riding and scooting to school, with Year 4 taking out the top spot with 38% participation! Congratulations to our Year 4 students and families for leading the way. Year 1 also had a fantastic result with 32% participation, closely followed by Year 6 at 30%. Every student who chooses an active way to get to school helps reduce the number of cars around our school while also starting the day with some fresh air and physical activity. A big thank you to all our families who participated and continue to support our Your Move initiatives. We look forward to seeing if another year level can knock Year 4 off the top spot at our next Wellness Wednesday!

Wellness Wednesday 5th August

Our latest Wellness Wednesday was another wonderful opportunity for our school community to embrace active travel and make healthier, more sustainable choices when travelling to school.

It was great to see students and families choosing to walk, ride and scoot to school, with Year 4 leading the way with 38% participation, followed by Year 1 and Year 6. Congratulations to our Year 4 students and families for being our Wellness Wednesday champions!

Wellness Wednesday is an important part of our Your Move journey and also connects beautifully with the message of Laudato Si’ and our call to care for our common home. By choosing active transport, even for one journey each fortnight, our students are learning that small individual actions can collectively make a positive difference. Fewer car trips can help reduce traffic around our school, lower emissions and encourage us all to think about how our everyday choices impact the environment.

Our Your Move initiatives also encourage students to develop healthy, active habits while building a greater sense of connection with their community and environment.

Thank you to all of our families who continue to support Wellness Wednesday. We look forward to seeing even more students walking, riding and scooting as the term continues!

BOOK WEEK & BOOK PARADE BOOK WEEK & BOOK PARADE

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map Show in original size

St Elizabeth’s Book Week parade will be held in Week 6 Thursday 27th Aug.

As our school is growing and our hall is not full size at the moment, this year we have decided to try and run our parade outside, weather permitting with the whole school together. At the front of our school on the lawn near our school flag poles.

If the weather is wet, we will have two separate parades. Kindy and Pre-Primary first at 8:45am to 9:15am in the hall. Year 1 to 6 will commence at 9:30am to 10:30am in the hall too.

A notice will go out in Week 6 for further information.

Students dress up in their favourite character from a book. If your child doesn’t have the book to go with their dressup, you can always check if our school library, has it for you to borrow. Parents welcome to also dress up if you wish. I would suggest the students pack normal clothes in case they would like to play sport at recess and lunch.

Thank you

Mrs Burgess

Disco Thanks!!! Disco Thanks!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make last week's P&F School Disco such a fantastic event!

Thank you to our wonderful school staff for their support, our parent volunteers who generously gave their time to help everything run smoothly, and all the parents and families who supported the event.

Most importantly, thank you to our students, who brought plenty of energy, enthusiasm and some impressive dance moves! It was wonderful to see everyone having such a great time.

Events like these wouldn’t be possible without the support of our school community, and the P&F is incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in making the night such a success.
