Building Strong Relationships and Consistent Routines at School

At Fulton Elementary, we know that two of the most important ingredients for student success are positive relationships and consistent routines. When children feel connected to their teachers and classmates, they are more likely to feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Relationships matter. Every smile, greeting, and encouraging word helps students know they belong. Teachers and staff work hard to build trust with students so they feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and celebrating their growth. Families also play a key role by partnering with the school to reinforce the importance of kindness, respect, and teamwork. Together, we create a supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Routines matter too. Predictable schedules and clear expectations give students the structure they need to focus on learning. From morning meetings to classroom procedures, routines provide a sense of stability. When students know what to expect, they are more confident, independent, and successful.

At Fulton Elementary, we believe relationships and routines go hand in hand. Strong connections make children feel secure, while consistent routines help them grow academically and socially. With both in place, our school becomes a safe and welcoming space where students are ready to do their best every day.

From the Desk of: Counselor Meumann

As children return to school, it is important that we establish routines and structure.

-Practice routines for getting ready for school and winding down in the evening to minimize stress and maximize efficiency.

-Create a quiet, organized space for homework and studying.

-Encourage healthy eating, especially a nutritious breakfast to support focus and energy.

Spreading Positivity at FES! Spreading Positivity at FES!

A special shoutout goes to Lil Steamers Levi J. & Ella J. who placed over 50 stones of positivity around FES this weekend! Our students loved searching for these on Monday morning and many of our Lil Steamers kept one as a keepsake. It was a great start to the first full week of school; thank you both for making our Monday even brighter!

This Week's Bookworm Bulletin This Week's Bookworm Bulletin

Exciting news is coming out of the library! We have monarch caterpillars and eggs in an enclosure nestled among the books! The students have been so excited to stop in and check them out! It has been all things 'monarch' in the library this week. We will continue talking about butterflies over the next month. Once our little friends hatch, we will release them so they can start their long journey to Mexico! Ask your kiddos about monarchs. I bet they will have a fun fact for you!

We will be starting a Book Bingo in the library! Be on the lookout for a Book Bingo sheet that your child will be bringing home from the library. This reading program is open to all FES students and will run from September through the beginning of December. The Bingo game will introduce students to different genres such as mystery, historical fiction, and poetry. Please help your child participate by initialing each square as they finish a book. Those students who complete the Book Bingo sheet will receive a prize, a certificate, and have their picture taken. There will also be a grand prize winner who will be able to pick out a new book! We are looking forward to this fun new incentive!

River Bend Considering New Facilities & Seeks Community Feedback River Bend Considering New Facilities & Seeks Community Feedback

River Bend Families,

Your input is needed as the Board of Education considers building a new gym at RBMS, adding a performing arts center at FHS, build a multi-purpose space at FHS to address needed wrestling room space, add classrooms to RBMS and FES, an additional gym at FHS to replace the converted performing arts space and add parking around the middle school.

The following link will take you to a Q&A document as well as provide a survey to give input. The Board would like to finalize a decision and move forward with planning for a referendum to pay for the additional spaces by the October meeting. Your feedback is valued.

Thank you,

Darryl Hogue & Kelli Parsons
