DFP Family Update

Dear Feeney Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our curriculum night. I hope you got to see a small glimpse into your child's school day and what the year ahead holds. This upcoming week at DFP is a busy one: we have our first Preschool Parent Committee, our first School Governance meeting, and Friday is an early release day.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful day, and we will see you tomorrow.

Parent Preschool Committee (PTO) Tuesday, October 6 at 6:00pm
We wil gather for our first Parent Preschool Committee on Tuesday, October 6:00. If you plan to come in person, please enter through the playground entrance. If you prefer to join virtually, a link will be shared on Tuesday morning.
The committee plans events for the year and plans fundraising events for the preschool. We welcome your input and ideas! We hope to see you there.
Early Release on Friday, 10/9
Friday, October 9 is an early release day for the district. All students will dismiss at 11:00 am. Student in Ms. Effie's AFTERNOON class will attend school. There is NO SCHOOL for Ms. Effie's morning class.
DFP School Governance Council
We are still seeking a family representative to join our School Governance Council. The School Governance Committee meets monthly to discuss our School Improvement Plan and goals for this school year. More information can be found HERE.
Our first meeting is THIS WEDNESDAY October 7 at 8:00 am.
The Importance of Being On Time for School
Arriving on time helps children begin their school day feeling calm, confident, and ready to learn. It gives them time to greet their teachers and friends, settle in, and participate in important morning routines and learning activities.
We know mornings with young children can be unpredictable. Please plan enough time to arrive on time and ready to learn. Thank you for helping your child start each day with a successful transition.
A reminder when the doors to the preschool are closed, please bring your student to the Main Office of Elm Street School. The main entrance is located in the back of the school building.
Lunch at DFP
If your child attends a full-day program, lunch is available through our Nutrition Department at no cost.
Lunch options are as follows:
Monday: Chicken Nuggets
Tuesday: Burgers
Thursday: PANCAKES (this is a change)
Friday: Pizza
Fall Picture Day Friday, October 16
DFP picture day is on Friday, October 16.
Picture ordering Information will go home this week.
