October 3, 2025
Dear DMS Families,
Welcome to the month of October! As the leaves begin to change and the fall season settles in, weβre excited for all the learning and activities ahead.
Weβre also proud to kick off the month with some great news from our athletics department. On October 1st, the Lions Soccer team pulled off an impressive comeback to defeat Case 2-1. Logan Rebello tied the game with a powerful long-range free kick, and Liam Medeiros sealed the win by dribbling past the goalie for the game-winner. Our defense held strong in a tough second half, with standout performances from upperclassmen Mia Eed and Akshar Patel. Yesterday, our soccer team won a 5-4 thriller against Rehoboth. The Lions stormed into an early lead off a hat trick of goals by Antonio Ferreira Carvalho. Mack Latour added a goal off an assist from Teo Rodrigues, and Logan Rebello scored the fifth and final Lions goal. Caden Merriam and the defense held on in the final minutes to secure the win. Go Lions!
A quick reminder to families that Picture Day is scheduled for October 17th.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Principal cleandro@drregional.org

πβ½ SPORTS NEWS πβ½
An Important Announcement regarding DMS Sporting Events
We want to take this opportunity to remind families that DMS students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play soccer/baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home and return for the game if they would like to watch.
Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at soccer/softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.
