The Weekly Update #4
August 22nd, 2025
Another great week of learning is in the books, and we are getting closer to STAAR testing! Our students have been working incredibly hard—reviewing key concepts and building confidence as they prepare to show what they know.
To give students one final boost before testing begins, we will host Saturday School tomorrow, March 28th. This is a great opportunity for extra practice and support! Be sure to read about the district IXL Saturday School competition down below under the "A Note from The Principal"!
We’ve also included an April calendar in this newsletter with important STAAR testing dates. Please take a moment to review it and plan ahead. Daily attendance is always important, but it is especially critical on testing days to ensure students are present, prepared, and ready to succeed.
We’re excited to share that our Academic Night has been rescheduled for April 8th! We hope you’ll join us for an evening filled with helpful strategies to support your student at home, opportunities to set STAAR goals together, and some fun for the whole family. Enjoy delicious food from Come and Taste It BBQ and Hot Pot, and cool off with shaved ice from Kona Ice!
Be sure to read the rest of the newsletter for additional updates and important information. Thank you for your continued support—we are in this together!
As we move closer to the end of the school year, we will be monitoring dress code expectations more closely—especially with exciting events like Field Day and 8th grade activities (including prom and the end-of-year field trip) right around the corner. Participation in these events is a privilege, and following school expectations plays a big role in eligibility.
Students are expected to come to school in full dress code every day, including appropriate uniform bottoms. When students arrive in ripped jeans or out-of-dress-code clothing but have appropriate items in their backpacks, it shows they are aware of the expectations but are choosing not to follow them. We want to avoid unnecessary consequences, so please help ensure your student leaves home dressed appropriately.
Dress Code Reminders:
- Warm-up pants, sweatpants, joggers, basketball shorts, leggings, flare leggings, and athletic pants are not allowed as uniform bottoms.
- Students must wear approved uniform bottoms at all times while on campus.
- Students are required to wear their assigned grade-level uniform shirt each day:
- 6th Grade – Black
- 7th Grade – Red
- 8th Grade – Yellow
If a student arrives out of dress code:
- The student will be required to call a parent/guardian to bring appropriate clothing.
- If a change of clothes cannot be provided, the student will be assigned to ISS for the day.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a focused and respectful learning environment as we finish the year strong!
⭐IXL Saturday School Competition!⭐
We are excited to kick off our IXL Saturday School Competition! This fun and motivating opportunity is designed to help students sharpen their skills, build confidence, and get extra practice as we prepare for upcoming assessments.
Each week, the competition will run from Saturday at 6:30 AM through Sunday at 11:45 PM. During this time, students can log into IXL, complete assigned skills, and earn points that contribute to their grade level and campus totals.
We’ll be adding a fun, competitive twist with things like leaderboards, student and class recognition, small rewards, and friendly grade-level competitions to keep everyone motivated and engaged!
Our goal is to build strong learning habits, increase skill mastery, and create an exciting environment where students feel proud of their progress.
We encourage all students to participate and give it their best effort—every skill practiced helps set you up for success!
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students grow and succeed!

Every day truly counts in Spring ISD! When students are in class, they stay connected, confident and ready to learn. Missing even one day before Winter break can set students back, as new material is still being taught. Let’s finish the year strong—together in culture, together in accountability. 💛
