Reid Elementary News
October 2026
Hi Reid Rocket Families!
Our Fund Run is coming up on October 16th and we hope it's a huge success! Thank you for all of your help and support. Packets went home with students a few weeks ago.Thank you to everyone who plans to volunteer their time and/or money to help make our school events a success!
Our PTO is planning some fun extra activities for our students and families. If you are not a friend of the PTO facebook page, please look this up as it contains great information about what our PTO supports.
School begins promptly at 8:40 am. Students should not be in dropped off before 8:35. If you need to drop your child off before then, we offer School Age Child Care. They can be reached at 810-591-6083. If your child is late for school, we ask that you please accompany them into the building and sign them in at the office.
Please make sure to watch out for our busses in the morning. Please do not cross in front or in between our busses in the parking lot. It makes our bus drivers very nervous when they have students and adults crossing where they should not. Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe.
If your student is eating breakfast at school, they may enter the building through the main doors at 8:25 a.m. Breakfast is served until 8:45 a.m. as students need to be in their classroom by 8:50 so they don't miss instruction.
The morning is a very busy time for our staff and we want to provide you our full attention. If you need to speak with your child’s teacher, please contact them to make an appointment. We appreciate your cooperation.
We are glad to welcome parent volunteers to our building. All volunteers will need to sign in at the office, and report to their teacher for instructions. If your teacher is in need of having a volunteer in the room, they will reach out to you.
We have an exciting month planned with many activities and events. Please be sure to check your teachers' news for important info too.
Educationally yours,
Jamie Wagner
Principal

Please plan to have your child attend school for the entire day on October 7th. If your child is unable to attend due to sicknes or an extenuating factor, please plan to provide a doctor's note and call the office to excuse your child's absence.
Costume Parade
Halloween Happenings
Reid Elementary students will be celebrating Halloween on Thursday, October 29th! Students are encouraged to dress up in costume and participate in the Halloween parade at 9:30 a.m. through the Wailea subdivision (weather permitting). Parties/fall activities will be taking place in the students' classrooms. Teachers will be notifying parents of the time and the need for volunteers if applicable. Costumes may not contain any gore, blood, weapons or full face cover masks. Students may arrive in costume. Inflatable costumes are fun, however, they are not conducive to a classroom. If your child has an inflatable costume, they may wear it during the parade, but they may not wear it in the classroom. They simply will not fit. Thank you for your understanding.
Parents are welcomed and encouraged to join us in the subdivision next door. (weather permitting) Please do not park on the streets in the sub. Please use the Reid parking lot to walk over to the sub. Mr. Finkbeiner's West Middle School Band students will provide some festive music during the parade. Let's make this a fun and safe celebration!
