Conferences October 7th (evening) and October 8th (day)

Parent/ teacher conferences are scheduled for the evening of October 7th and during the day on October 8th. Learwood uses an online scheduling system via PTCfast for conference scheduling. The link below will go live on September 25th at 3:00pm. If you experience any difficulty with scheduling your conference at that time, please reach out to your child’s teacher or guidance counselor.

Career Pathways Expo Field Trip

Students at Learwood Middle School have the exciting opportunity to attend the Career Pathways Expo on Tuesday, October 13, 2026! This special event will give students a chance to explore future careers, meet professionals, and learn more about the many paths available to them after high school. The trip is free of charge, with transportation provided through the Avon Lake City Schools bus garage. The bus will leave at 8:45am and return at 12:45pm. Students should dress in weather-appropriate clothing for the day, and will eat lunch when they return to the school. Space is limited, so only the first 80 students who turn in a signed permission slip will be able to attend, with priority given to students who did not attend last year. Don’t miss out on this chance to look ahead at your future!

PTA Membership Drive

Please visit: https://learwoodms.givebacks.com/shop to enroll. Parents/guardians with multiple students enrolled at Learwood will be getting raffle tickets for each of their students so no one is left out of the raffle.

The next PTA meeting will be Wednesday, October 7th at 9:30AM (AL Library)

Homecoming Tailgate

Don't forget, October 2nd at lunch time the Student Council is hosting a Homecoming Tailgate. For $2, students can “buy out” of lunch to eat outside, enjoy tailgate snacks, listen to music, and play games. That day’s school lunch will be tailgate-themed. Students can grab it through the cafeteria like usual, or they’re welcome to pack their own lunch instead. Tickets go on sale starting Monday, September 28th during lunch.

Ski Club Student/Parent Meeting

If your student is interested in joining ski club, there will be a student/parent information meeting on Wednesday, October 21st at 7:00pm in Learwood's Auditorium. This meeting will explain the registration process, as well as go over expectations for the slopes and the bus. Any student that is considering ski club this winter should attend with their parent/guardian.
