👋Message from the Principal

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,

Kindness. I do not know how many times in the past I was told by my mother or father to be kind to my younger siblings. I also can remember how many times I would scare my siblings or take a toy from their room without asking or pick up my sibling and carry them around the house because they had bothered me. That kindness my parents had told me to show to others was not on my radar, not even in the slightest.

Too often, we find ourselves in similar situations where we are told one thing but end up doing the opposite. We do not always show that kindness. We do not always listen to those who supervise us. What do we then deserve in response to this behavior? We hear of this in the words written to the Romans, “For the wages of sin is death…” (6:23a). We deserve death for following our sinful desires.

However, we have the ultimate joy found in the second half of the verse, “but the undeserved gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (6:23b). This love, this gift, this kindness that we have is not because of what we have done, but because of the care that the Lord God has for each and every one of us.

May we then see this kindness of the cross and share that joy, share that love, with others each and every day. Blessings on your week of remembrance of Christ’s love.

In Christ,

Jace Fellers, Principal

Rachel's Challenge

Dear Kindergarten through 8th Grade Families,

We have the blessed opportunity to have the group “Rachel’s Challenge” coming on September 30th. This group will be presenting to our Kindergarten through 8th grade students on the effects of our words. This organization was formed in response to the Columbine High School shooting. Darrell Scott and his wife formed Rachel's Challenge to honor their daughter, Rachel, in showing the love and care we can share with others. The program exists to inspire and equip every person to create a positive culture change in schools, businesses, or communities by starting their own chain reaction of kindness and compassion. The objective of this program is to continue Rachel's legacy of kindness and compassion and;

Help schools and businesses to become safer, more connected places to live and learn.
Stimulate real culture change by actively involving the entire community in the process.
Change lives by providing culturally relevant social/emotional and mental health training.
Increase achievement and ensure results by engaging the participants' heart, head and hands in self-care and helping others.

Rachel's Challenge provides evidence-based, evidence-driven programs. When implemented

with fidelity, our partner schools achieve statistically significant gains in community

engagement, faculty/student relationships, leadership potential, and school climate; along

with reductions in bullying.

We are excited to be able to host these opportunities for the students and teachers at our school. This event will be done throughout the day on September 30th. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

In Christ,

Mr. Jace Fellers

Chapel Service

This year, we are supporting the mission work being done in Africa.

In 2005, two Kenyan brothers, Pastor Francis Ranogwa and Pastor Kefa Kadenge, found themselves caring for over a dozen orphaned children in their homes. They had inherited a small, rural farm near Kisumu and Lake Victoria where they had been raised. God gave them both the idea of moving the orphanage to their larger property and using the farm to build a children’s home for the many orphans in the community. Thus a dream was born and began to take root.

The orphanage was named Shangilia Children’s Home and began with the two small houses on the farm and the orphans who had been living with Pastor Francis and Pastor Kefa. Over the years, Shangilia has embraced the community through a widow’s program, a clinic, a kindergarten, support for the local schools, and spreading the good news of Christ’s love.

As the ministry grew, Love for Kenya was created to support the many things God is doing in Kenya and to mobilize people with a heart for Kenya and a desire to partner with our Kenyan friends.

Love for Kenya [LFK] has raised the funds necessary to build a new Manager's Home and Ministry Center at Shangilia. Construction will hopefully start in late August and should be completed by January 2027. The two-story building will include a home for Shangilia's manager on the second floor with office space and a computer lab for the children on the main floor. Computers have already been donated, but LFK will need to raise money for the desks, chairs and other equipment needed for the lab. Based on a ballpark estimate, the cost of a computer station with a desk, chair and associated equipment should be around $200 each, with a goal of having a minimum of 10 stations. We are aiming to support the work of the center in sharing the Good News with the next generation of students in that region. Offerings to date total $399.62
