JSC Weekly Wave
November 21st through November 25th
🧡 🧡 🧡
Dear JSC Community,
Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday to help students develop an 'attitude of gratitude.' This week at JSC, students will be working on activities that focus on gratitude and the spirit of giving. Speaking of gratitude, we are very thankful for the shout outs that our students and families have been kind enough to give to our staff. Keep the shout outs coming, and please know that shout outs are not just for staff! You may give a shout out to any member of our JSC community (student, parent, PTO or other community member, staff, teacher, etc). Please scroll down to the 'Shout Out' section of this newsletter and ride the wave of positivity by offering a shout out!
Remember, we have a short week! There will be an early dismissal this Wednesday, November 23rd, at 12:00 PM for John S. Clarke Elementary Center students. There will be no school for students on Monday, November 28th. School will resume on Tuesday, November 29th. We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving and Roll, Tide!

Holiday Cards for Homebound Seniors
In the spirit of giving, JSC is inviting students/ families to create holiday / seasonal cards for homebound senior citizens in our community.
Many homebound seniors feel lonely in their daily lives. Because they don't get around as much as they used to, they often miss the daily human interactions they used to have and are grateful for every phone call, visit, or letter they receive. A homemade card from a caring person can really brighten a senior's day. It makes them feel loved and remembered.
Items needed for this activity
1. Card stock or paper
2. Crayons and / or markers
3. Stickers or any decorations to make the cards extra special
Next Steps
Make as many cards as you would like. Cards should be brought to school. There will be a collection box outside the library. Please bring cards to school by Friday, December 16th, so we can make sure we deliver them to local senior centers / nursing homes before winter break.
All students who complete a card will have their name entered in a random 'Pay it forward' kindness drawing at school.
We hope you will join us in the spirit of giving and kindness this holiday season!
