Bobcat Bulletin
September 8, 2023
Hello Parents/Guardians,
It has been another great week at Great Brook Middle School. I have been very impressed with the staff and students as they move into the day to day routines and rise to meet the expectations of staff. Please be sure to encourage your student to continue to put their best foot forward as the begin the 23-24 school year.
Please be sure to complete the different electronic forms for PowerSchool. It is important that we have up to date contact information as we begin moving ahead with the school year. If you are having trouble or challenges with this, please reach out to the main office and we can assist you or find someone who can!
I also want to encourage you all as parents to get involved with our amazing Parent Teacher Organization. Right now there are quite a few openings on the board and we would love to have you participate. You can reach out to our PTO by sending an email to: greatbrookpto@gmail.com or send me an email and I will pass on your information to them.
I hope that you all have a great weekend and thank you for letting us be a part of your student's learning journey!
Sincerley,
Adam Caragher, Principal ~ GBS

7th Grade Science
Students have been working on familiarizing themselves with the metric system during this week in 7th Grade Science with Mrs. Leclerc. In the picture below they were using balances as they measured the mass of multiple different classroom items.
Have You Filled Someone's Bucket Today?
I had the privilege this week to read a great book to a group of our 6th grade students. It has a simple message of being positive, encouraging, and kind to the people around you. When we smile, tell others something we appreciate about them, or help someone in need, it fills their bucket...as well as your own bucket.

Greek Mythology
A group of students in Greek Mythology reading circles enjoying reading, sharing, and learning. They also participated in role playing games to help them better understand the different myths and legends of that society.
Luck or Skill?
One of our groups of 8th grade students are participating in a games and gaming class offered by Mrs. Cullinan. Student analyze the different components and ideas behind a variety of different games. They are particularly focused right now on games of pure chance.
