I have a short post today for a short week. I hope you all have an amazing spring break. Whether you are traveling or like the Hogobooms, enjoying a Staycation, I hope you get exactly what you need from some time away. Fun and relaxation with family and friends, and some cuddle time with our 4-month-old grandson, are high on our list. When we come back, it will feel like a sprint to the finish line. Our seniors will have just 25 school days left in their careers when we return. Seniors, be sure you are on top of your grades and have all the things you need to meet the graduation requirements. Pay attention to important dates for your senior year activities. There are some mandatory events for you.

When we come back, we will be stepping right into the state testing window. We need kids in attendance on these days and are encouraging all test takers to give their absolute best. SAT and PSAT scores in particular can open up opportunities for early middle college, dual enrollment, work-based learning, college and work applications, and scholarship dollars in the coming years. The test dates are April 14th, 16th, and 21. DO A JOB and give it your best!!

CALLING ALL BASEBALL FAMILIES CALLING ALL BASEBALL FAMILIES

Keisuke is a 17-year-old student from Japan who will be in the 11th grade during his exchange year. He is a dedicated and thoughtful young man who comes from a close-knit and supportive family of three. Growing up, Keisuke has learned the importance of kindness, responsibility, and respect, values that he carries with him into all aspects of his life. One of Keisuke’s greatest passions is baseball. He played on a team every day throughout middle school, showing strong commitment and discipline to the sport. While he now plays more casually about once a week with friends, his love for baseball remains a central part of his life—he watches games on TV daily and closely follows the sport. He would be especially excited for the opportunity to continue playing baseball or being involved in a team during his exchange year.In addition to baseball, Keisuke enjoys a variety of activities including dance, reading, photography, and visiting museums. He has a deep appreciation for art and enjoys exploring paintings and photographs, as well as learning more about technology and developing computer skills. He is naturally curious and enjoys discovering new interests and perspectives.Keisuke is described by his family and friends as hardworking, sincere, and dependable. While he may be a bit shy when first meeting new people, he takes time to observe and build genuine connections, becoming warm and friendly as he grows more comfortable. He is motivated, responsible, and committed to personal growth, always striving to do his best and learn from new experiences.During his exchange year, Keisuke is excited to experience American culture and become part of a host family’s daily life. He looks forward to building meaningful relationships, sharing his own culture, and continuing to grow both academically and personally.
