Hello Ridgeline Families-- We have certainly had a great week of school and there is an overwhelmingly positive mood on campus. There are several great learning opportunities highlighted in today’s Flyer. Specifically, AP Environmental Science, Graphic Arts, Human Body Systems(bio-med), and FBLA and DECA. Details about their recent activities are below. At lunch this week we handed out certificates to our students from all of last year who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. This elite group of 124 students makes up about 8% of our student body. This demonstrates exceptional dedication on their part! You may notice in our September PACE recognition photo that there are no seniors present. During this same time for Advisory, our seniors were getting a sales-pitch from Jostens about graduation Cap&Gown orders and all the other stuff you can buy for the big day.

We had a cool moment this week with representatives from KSPS TV who presented our Civic’s Bowl team with their Championship banner! We will display the banner proudly in our school. Check out the photo and article below.

You will see an Attendance remind below as well. So many school-related issues that arise and student, parent, and teacher stress is related to attendance. Excused or Unexcused, any day missed can be challenging to overcome, even for a high-achieving student. Your encouragement and support of excellent attendance from your student is appreciated!

A new Ridgeline school-wide athletic record has been set for Fall Sports. At last check ALL of our teams, boys and girl sports, are ranked in the Top 10 in the state! They have had unbelievable regular seasons, with our first official state-qualifying team being Girls Softball, who punched their ticket on Thursday, and play Mt. Spokane tonight for the District 06 Championship! Incredible effort by all of our athletes and their coaches!

Today’s profile picture is me, alongside our ASB President, Grace Morgan. Grace has the monthly honor/responsibility to provide a report to the school board. In her recent report she not only highlighted many of the great things happening in our school, she also told a nice story about our swim team and a foreign exchange student from Italy. It can be a nervous moment to address the board, and Grace did a fantastic job!

Yet, there is still more to learn and explore in today’s Falcon Flyer. Stay informed by taking a quick glance through each section.

Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Slow Pitch Softball is STATE BOUND

SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL is STATE BOUND this weekend for the first time in program history! These girls have worked hard, battled together, supported one another, and shown what it means to be a team. FALCONS LEADING THE WAY!

This past weekend, eight Ridgeline Falcons took their leadership beyond our school walls and made a BIG impact! Brooklyn Carroll, Taylor Swennumson, Ayla Diaz, Tegan Leong, Kaden Young, Trevor Lust, Cody Herrera, and Caden Smith joined forces with former Ridgeline Falcons now attending WSU, EWU, and Whitworth to serve as junior counselors at the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) Middle Level Team Retreat at Pinelow Park and Conference Center.

Together, they helped serve 76 middle school student leaders and their advisors from Selkirk, Horizon, Wahluke, Oakesdale, Tonasket, and Quincy.

Our Falcons showed up with energy, enthusiasm, empathy, and compassion! They created connections, encouraged collaboration, sparked new ideas, and empowered young leaders to develop meaningful action plans they can take back to their schools and put into action.

This is what leadership looks like! Leading by example, investing in others, and helping the next generation of leaders find their voice and make a difference.

Go Falcons!

Ridgeline Choir Ridgeline Choir

The Ridgeline hallways were buzzing with excitement this week as our talented students took to the stage. On Wednesday, October 21, the Ridgeline Choirs delivered their first concert of the school year, treating the audience to a truly beautiful night of music.

The evening’s repertoire wonderfully captured the essence of the season. The program included moving renditions of traditional pieces, such as the soulful classic "Wayfaring Stranger." The choirs also embraced the spirit of fall with "Autumn Song," a piece that perfectly celebrated the changing seasons and the spectacular array of autumn colors enjoyed in our community.

It was a deeply fun, moving, and memorable evening that highlighted the immense dedication and hard work our student vocalists have poured into their music since the start of the school year.

A huge congratulations goes out to all of our choir members for a stellar opening performance!

Earth and Environmental Science students applied their knowledge of Earth’s layers to simulate convection in the asthenosphere. They used differences in temperature to affect the density of the water and dye to show the movement of convection. This is helping to build their understanding of WHY the plates move as begin their unit on Plate Tectonics.

Those little plastic tabs that close your bread bags? Don't toss them! Our Bread Tab Drive is back, benefiting Special Olympics. The tabs are recycled for cash, and that money helps buy wheelchairs for people who need them.

It takes approximately 260,000 bread tabs to purchase one very basic wheelchair, so every single tab matters. Last year our community collected over 22,000 tabs. This year, our goal is 25,000.

Keep a jar or baggie by the bread drawer, pull off the tab when the bag is done, and send them in whenever it fills up. Drop off tabs at the RHS front office.

Same jars. Bigger goal. Thank you for helping us get there!
