Gratitude and Growth
We’re so thankful for our amazing Northwest students and families! Your support and encouragement in helping your child attend school every day truly make a difference in academic success. November is full of great ways to stay connected by joining us for our PTO meeting, enjoying a fun night of Book Bingo, and meeting with teachers during parent-teacher conferences. As the weather cools down, please make sure your child is dressed warmly for recess!
This month, we are highlighting the Portrait of a Cedar character trait adaptable. Throughout the month, students will explore what it means to be adaptable, why it’s important, and how we can practice adaptability in our everyday lives. We’re excited to recognize and celebrate students who demonstrate the ability to embrace change, try new things, problem-solve, manage emotions, work with others, and the list goes on!
We encourage you to stay connected with your child's classroom through SeeSaw and MyPowerHub. If you encounter any difficulties reaching your child's teacher, please don't hesitate to contact the Northwest Office. Our Northwest team is committed to fostering community connections and will keep you informed about all the exciting events happening at school.

Why Gratitude Matters for Kids
As we head into the month of November, our thoughts tend to turn to Thanksgiving. This holiday season can provide time to focus on gratitude.
Gratitude teaches kids that happiness doesn’t always come from what we have but from appreciating the people and experiences around us. This simple practice can boost confidence, improve relationships, and help kids manage stress. Kids who practice gratitude are also more likely to show kindness, develop empathy, and maintain a positive outlook on life—all qualities that will serve them well as they grow.
By embracing the power of gratitude, we can help our kids cultivate a mindset that will enrich their lives and positively impact those around them.
