Lockers
How does my student get a locker?
Students who have already paid for lockers will receive them on Monday during homeroom.
Lockers are open for rental. We will also rent lockers during Sneak-A-Peek on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Lockers will cost $5 for rental. This can be paid online via the link below or with cash at the events. We will continually rent lockers during the school year as long as we have not used them all.
If you desire to pay cash for a locker, come to the main office.
Can I Have My Cell Phone At School?
Cell Phone & Air Pod Policy
Students are permitted to have their cell phones at school. However, phones and Air Pods/Headphones MUST be stored either in a bookbag or in a locker. Students are not allowed to carry cell phones in their pocket or anywhere on their person during the school day. Failure to meet this expectation will result in a discipline referral.
If parents must get in touch with their students during the day, we ask that you call the main office at 770-651-5501.
Will Students Receive Chromebooks?
Chromebooks will be used in classes this year
DCSS is a 1-to-1 device district. This means that all students have access to devices. This year, each teacher will have a cart with Chromebooks inside the classroom for students to use in class. We will not issue devices to individual students as we have in the past. This will help prevent damage and loss that creates difficulty when we have schoolwide testing.
Beginning around Labor Day, students will be able to checkout devices from the media center to keep at home. These checkouts will require payment of the $25 usage fee.
How Can I find Out My Bus Route/Schedule?
Get your bus number and time here
Bus routes may be determined by using the Edulog Webquery system (linked below). There are computers set up in the cafeteria. Staff members will be there to assist with finding bus routes.

What is the Dress Code For Students?
You can be fashionable and still meet the expectation
Douglas County School System has published the dress code expectations for students in Rule JCDB-R(3) . We will follow these guidelines with our students at Turner. This information can be found below.
Is there a Student Handbook?
Student Handbooks are Ready
Turner Middle School provides a local supplement to the district student handbook. The district has set forth general expectations, whereas Turner MS has clarifications that support our school culture and practices.
Can I Be A Walker or Car Rider After School?
Walkers and Car Rider Information
Car Riders and Walkers are dismissed daily at 4:05 PM. All students who walk after school must have a walker’s permission form on file. All Car riders and walkers will be dismissed from the cafeteria. We ask that all parents pick up their students in the designated car rider line and only enter the parking lot by turning right as indicated by the diagram below.
How Can I Checkout My Student During The Day?
Checkout Procedures
Parents/Guardians/Other approved adults may checkout students by coming into the main office and presenting their ID. Students must remain at school until at least 12:45 PM to be counted as present for the day.
Students cannot be checked out after 3:30 PM.
How Can I stay In Touch?
Stay connected to receive all information
Our primary method of communication is Remind. Please get the app if you have not already done so. The school also uses the messenger system to send emails. Additionally, social media is another method to communicate upcoming events. Be sure to follow us on the platforms of your choice.
