Hembree Highlights

April 18, 2025
Message from Ms. Lahey
Greetings Hembree Families,
It was wonderful to welcome our students back after spring break. I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable time. On Tuesday, we had our Kindergarten Sneak a Peek, and it was a joy to greet our newest Hawks.
Our third, fourth, and fifth grade students have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming Georgia Milestones Assessments. I am so proud of all the dedication and effort I am seeing in the classrooms.
Please join us next Friday, April 25th, from 7:00-9:00 PM for our final STAR night with the theme "Ready, Tech, Go..." I hope you can make it!
The PTA is still looking to fill two positions on the board. We are in need of a communications chair and a business partners liaison. If you have been looking to get involved, this is a wonderful opportunity.
Favor
According to Fulton County Policy, students in grades K-5 are not permitted to use phones and personal communication devices. While phone-related issues are rare, we have recently encountered problems with smart watches. Therefore, we kindly request that these watches be left at home. Additionally, students in grades 3-5 will not be allowed to wear smart watches during the Georgia Milestones testing. Thank you for your support and understanding.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Best Regards,
Nancy Lahey
Principal

Beanstack Reading App
Have you heard your child mention anything about an app called Beanstack? It was introduced in the Media Center. Beanstack is a digital reading log that students can use to log the number of minutes they are reading. They can earn badges and rewards along the way. If your child is reading at school, home, daycare, etc. they can log their minutes and help us get closer to our goal. The following is a video explaining how to use Beanstack from home. You can always find your child's lunch number/student number in infinite campus or email Mrs. Soberanis: soberanis@fultonschools.org. Happy Reading!

Jueves de Participación Familiar
¡Familias!
