Dear Parents and Carers,

What a gorgeous week we’ve had!

A big thank you to Friends of Kirk Fenton for paying for the new plants and planters at the front of school. We are hugely grateful to Mrs Hathaway and Mrs Mc Keating for giving up their Saturday to make school look so welcoming.

This week also saw the first of our ‘Community Litter Pick’ sessions. We were small in number but mighty in work ethic! Even with a small group, their dedication to keeping the community clean is truly commendable. Every little bit helps!

Due to the departure of Mr Priory and the end of a fixed term contract, we have advertised a couple of teacher vacancies in school. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please direct them to https://kf.starmat.uk/vacancies/.

The Wright Brothers became their namesakes this week with a trip to the Yorkshire Air Museum. They had a wonderful time looking and learning about the history of flight. The museum staff were impressed with their conduct and the children came away with a voucher for a free return. Big thanks to the staff for organising and attending the trip - the children will take away some lovely memories from it.

Wishing you all the best for the bank holiday weekend,

Mel Walmsley

Congratulations to Ava, Ralph and their team the Blue Mustangs who are our winners this week.

Respect of the Countryside Code

One of our village neighbours has asked for a polite reminder to be respectful of our countryside and to our working farmers. Dogs must be kept on a lead on all open access land between 1 March and 31 July even if there is no livestock on the land and please keep away from crops in working fields to prevent damage.
