LISD families are required to complete back-to-school forms each year in Skyward Family Access. For 2025–26, the packet now includes a new Nurse Consent form required by Senate Bill 12. This form must be submitted by Sept. 1, 2025 for your child to receive care from the school nurse for illness or injury. Even if you have already completed your forms, please log back in to Skyward to review and submit this new consent.

The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees voted on Monday, August 25 to call for a special election to fill the vacant At-Large Place 6 seat previously held by Dr. Buddy Bonner, who resigned from the Board this summer. The seat’s unexpired term runs through May 2027.

The special election will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, in conjunction with the General Election. Candidate filing will be open through Sept. 3, 2025 at 5 p.m. Additional information, including key dates and filing details, can be found on the district’s website.

Read a message from Board President Jenny Proznik regarding Dr. Bonner’s resignation, as well as an update shared on Aug. 18 about the Board’s next steps to fill the vacant seat.

Schools require family applications for the Free and Reduced Program each year, which is available to all eligible families, providing discounts and waivers to ensure our students receive the support they need.

For this coming school year, there will be 5 absences allowed with a parent note for any reason. For pre-planned trips or outside school activity absences, parents will have 5 additional absences and will need to complete a pre-planned absence form. As an important reminder, absences with a doctor’s note, received within three days, are excused and do not count towards the parent note or pre-planned absence count. We always need volunteers looking to partner with the district to support our schools. All volunteers must complete yearly background checks in order to volunteer in our schools. To complete your background check please following the below steps:

• Select the school(s) you want to work with this year
• Fill out the Background Check Consent and the LISD Background Check
